On the Eurogamer site this morning and I noticed a banner ad at the top of the page, which is very unusual given that I have adblock installed. At the top right of the banner was the word Advertisement with a [?] next to it so I clicked it out of curiosity and got
this page. This seems like a pretty good idea as a compromise and as long as the ads remain relatively unobtrusive I'm all for it. I've been feeling a bit morally iffy about adblock for a while now given that I basically consume a lot of content for nothing by blocking the ads; but even five minutes spent on the internet without it has me rushing to reactivate it because Jesus fucking Christ advertisers are assholes. So, yeah; I like the idea that someone has actually sat down and negotiated an idea like this and I hope it comes off for everyone's sake. Thoughts?
