It's Friday, 24th May, Two Thousand and Thirteen! Or, 11 May 2013 if you do thing old style and prefer the Julian Calendar. Or 15 Sivan 5773 on the Hebrew system, 14 Rajab 1434 on the Islamic, or 5 Prairial CCXXI on everyone's favourite, the French Revolutionary Calendar! But more importantly, it's also time for your weekly round-up of what's been going on here on the forum we call BEEX:

* A tornado devastated Oklahoma City. Our resident wind-watcher Pete kept us updated with developments.

* Microsoft unveiled their latest XBOX and immediately let DRM ruin everything.

* Flickr pissed people off.

* We began our Grand Census of Console Ownership - completion is mandatory, and will be used for planning services, allocating funds, and confusing future historians.

* 'Doctor Who' finished, and we all argued about what happened, what's going to happen, and whether it was any good or not . Warning, the discussion, starting (aptly) here, contains MASSIVE SPOILERS so don't read it until you've seen it. Unless you're Davpaz, of course.

* No sooner had 'Doctor Who' disappeared for six long months of speculation, then the glittery world of EUROVISION hit our screens, uniting a previously disparate continent with an evening of wine, women, and song. Disappointingly, only a few of the acts were properly-Eurovisiony, and aside from warbling Romanian vampires and people sitting upside down in glass boxes, most of the acts were surprisingly listenable and devoid of tasteless choreography. Malta and Greece should have shared the top prize, but the Danes put up a cracking piece complete with military-style drums and fife, and won by a landslide.

* The EU made a bigger mess of olive oil than Popeye and co. ever did.

* Saturnalian outlined the next summer blockbuster (contains spoilers!). Yeah, I'd probably watch this.

* TheVision's uncle's boss might be visited by ghosts come Christmas.

* Trooper got crafty and fired up the ol' sewing machine for some old-fashioned stichin'. And then broke it. Malia disapproved of this.

* People dried their hands.

* Malia got nostalgic for Eurovision of yore

* The opening battles of the Vicksburg campaign began 150 years ago this week. There's a map in the BeeXWeex of 23/5/1863.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
We'll celebrate the anniversary of the great Union victory there in early July, alongside the anniversary of the other victory over in Pennsylvania.

* TheVision pressed something he shouldn't.

* Pete did not like 'Doctor Who' very much.

* Mr Russ is not a timelord.

* Trooper hates emmets on trains.

* I included this nom in my BeexWeex in case someone can explain it to me.

* Malc illustrated Trooper's next project

* Pic of the week was Pete's shot of the old country. Made me feel homesick.

Have a great long weekend, no matter what you're doing. To play us out, Mr Damon Albarn and friends:

Thanks to Mr Russell, Chinny, Malia, Davpaz, TheVision, and Grim... for the noms. Keep 'em coming.

Well done.

The non you didn't get is a GX4000 reference. It is naturally hilarious.
