It's Friday, 24th May, Two Thousand and Thirteen! Or, 11 May 2013 if you do thing old style and prefer the Julian Calendar. Or 15 Sivan 5773 on the Hebrew system, 14 Rajab 1434 on the Islamic, or 5 Prairial CCXXI on everyone's favourite, the French Revolutionary Calendar! But more importantly, it's also time for your weekly round-up of what's been going on here on the forum we call BEEX:
* A tornado devastated Oklahoma City. Our resident wind-watcher Pete kept us updated with developments.
* Microsoft unveiled their latest XBOX and immediately let DRM ruin everything.
* We began our Grand Census of Console Ownership - completion is mandatory, and will be used for planning services, allocating funds, and confusing future historians.
* 'Doctor Who' finished, and we all argued about what happened, what's going to happen, and whether it was any good or not . Warning, the discussion, starting (aptly) here, contains MASSIVE SPOILERS so don't read it until you've seen it. Unless you're Davpaz, of course.
* No sooner had 'Doctor Who' disappeared for six long months of speculation, then the glittery world of EUROVISION hit our screens, uniting a previously disparate continent with an evening of wine, women, and song. Disappointingly, only a few of the acts were properly-Eurovisiony, and aside from warbling Romanian vampires and people sitting upside down in glass boxes, most of the acts were surprisingly listenable and devoid of tasteless choreography. Malta and Greece should have shared the top prize, but the Danes put up a cracking piece complete with military-style drums and fife, and won by a landslide.
