I should have quoted. I was replying to the info about the folks using Ashens' forum for nefarious purposes.

I think it was a question of he had to close it to demonstrate he wasn't himself using it for that purpose. Nobody was told precise details but yeah, tis rather unpleasant. The new forum has PMs disabled.

I just noticed an xkcd book on amazon. Wish I'd spotted it sooner and I'd have dropped some hints on here for secret Santa :P

Just watching the last few episodes of Professional Masterchef. Trying to convince myself I don't need anymore cookbooks, while drooling over some of the ones amazon. Also trying to convince myself that I shouldn't quit my job and go to catering college :D

Nice to know its there - you could buy it directly from the XKCD store but its sent from america and the shipping costs almost as much as the book :-(

http://store.xkcd.com/

($18 for the book $15 shipping to the UK - total if you then pay via paypal is around £22 - whereas Amazon is just over £9)

I have that xkcd book. It's lovely, but whoa was that some expensive shipping. So, naturally, I also bought two t-shirts.

Watched Stardust. Made my day. Fucking LOVE Stardust. I'm actually surprised people bothered making films after 2007. Also, beer is nice, and I've had too much recently, so will slow down over Christmas.

Dimrill: I've not read the book. Only saw the film for the first time tonight, but now I shall look out for the book as well. I love hearing that after I have seen a film I love. Always nice to come to a wonderful film and hear if an even better book. It's why I always tell people to watch Papillon before reading the book. Doing it the other way around would ruin a wonderful film!

No, it really is. It's a very similar "grown up", wry take on a fairy tale, as well as simultaneously being ridiculously sweet and endearing.

It's not too bad really. Fully working but one side cover has three teeth holes in it and the underside of the cabinet has a few bits missing. Hardly noticeable really, thank fuck.

Oh, in CSI STROUD news, I was up on the hillside on Saturday collecting firewood, when I noticed something out of the ordinary.

Now, last time Craster came to visit us he disappeared off outside for a while. I assumed he'd gone out for a fag, but given what I found on that wet and wintery Saturday morning, I can only assume he

Stardust is ridiculously sweet and endearing, and it's acted brilliantly all the way through. It does also have the unfortunate consequence of whenever the word 'Victoria' is said, it is immediately suffixed by 'that bitch', (which also works with 'Sienna Miller, that bitch' and 'Kiera Knightly, that bitch') but this is a slight digression. the whole film is like having all of your best friends around for an afternoon of awesome, with tea and cakes. Clare Danes is EPIC in it, as are all the cast, even Gervais ('the fat knob'). So, yeah. Hum. Anyway, it's not too raining here today so I've got to make my daily trip to the post office and sort some stuff out.

I gave Old Man Afterthought Halo 3, CoDBLOPS and GTA4 to take home with him. Should keep him entertained for a while. If he gets bored of Skyrim. He wanted to borrow take Dead Rising, but I convinced him not to. They seemed to like it up here, and stuff, but we'll have moved again by the time they revisit. That's something in the Olympic Diamond Jubilee Kate Has A Girl/Boy New Year to look forward to. As I fucking love moving.

Oh, fuck, yes. The first time I saw it I was like "oh, cool, De Niro" and then I was "OH COOL DE NIRO!". Dexter Fletcher is good as well, on those bits, along with the rest of the crew.

De Niro doing Tristran's hair makes me so very happy, too. His speech about his upbringing is perfect.

I really want a getup like this, though. just to hang about town in and stuff. I'd look most dashing.

EDIT: What is that style of coat called? TO THE EBAY MOBILE as it could be a very useful addition to my dressing up box of stuff.

I haven't really done any work since last Monday when I was in that London for a project briefing. Said project doesn't begin until Jan so I'm kinda on extended hols until then.

The paperwork has arrived for both my January projects, but the cases aren't available for download, so I can't do anything much other than working out my travel arrangements, practice interviews and playing with the urine and saliva sample kits for now.

I'm having a beer and reading Dracula. Behind me, a man is swearing at a fruit machine and in front, another man is growling at the television. Luckily, I've disguised myself as a northern person so can continue to observe this curious scene. Final Christmas stuff is done, all I need to do us buy MrsA something that isn't shit. But I'll do that tomorrow. Oh, in the interests of balance, the tax disc in my car has vanished. That's another £7, then.

I will add my confirmation.

Actually, no I won't. This afternoon was shit. SHIT! But then, I did try going to the post office at lunchtime, the week before Christmas. So perhaps I only have myself to blame...

I'm going to the gym soon, though, work out some aggression. I hope to god it's quiet in there.
