You know your morning is not going well when you find yourself thinking "oh god not the recorders again"

edit: "you must be so proud, I know I am getting all emotional and they are not even my children!!!"

* as one the audience thinks

"we are happy to see our kid, we couldn't give a flying fig about anyone elses kids, please shut the fuck up and let's get this over with as soon as possable so we can all go home"

Got no work to do right now. Just showed the accounts girl that to operate the shredder, turning it on might help. Tempted to just go home.

Shout "AH, FUCK THIS SHIT!". Stand up, tip your desk forward violently. Remove tie and walk out briskly without making eye contact.

I'm not wearing a tie. Nobody does. it's venture capital, innit? otherwise, yeah. I'm feeling pretty disspirited right now.

Go and look at the astrolabes in the history of science museum on Broad Street. That always calms me down when I've had a rough morning.

Then we'll have a pint later if you're in town, or coffee at lunchtime somewhere.

Have you read 'American Gods' by neil Gaiman? I think you'd like it.

I have, yes! I thought it was pretty good. The ending was a bit meh, though.

Isn't there a "sequel" of sorts? Anansi Boys, or something?

Not sure. it was on a 3 fr 2 offer at a bookshop. I'l look at amazon later. Agree with you as regards the ending. I've started on the 4th book of The Lost Fleet. Kinda pointless, given the blurb on the back of the two remaining books outline the entire plot.

 was having an argument on the internet with a real piece of work and posted on SA about it in a thread that's pretty much "hey guys look at this talentless wanker", he somehow found the big discussion over what a tosser he was and had a go at me in the original thread. I really couldn't give a fuck if he goes running to the mods because goons think he's a twat so I've politly replied to him in the original and told him to go fuck himself on SA.

@ Decca - I must confess, that pic of Miliband in your avatar, strangely looks like he's just farted and is wafting the result towards himself for 'analysis' purposes? (The so-called "Scoop Test"). He looks vaguely pleased with himself, too? 'Affirmative! Cabbage variety!'

There again, perhaps it's just me. :D

I pu a new set of ear buds (from the huge pouch full of them they supply) into my snazzy spensive super earphones a few days back.

Cor blimey, it makes a signficant difference having a new set on there. I hereby vow to change them more often.

Cheaper alternative - clean the wax out of your ears more regularly, so it doesn't gunk up your 'phones.

I've only been to a Nando's once. It was almost entirely unmemorable. All I remember is that the menus were vaguely childish.

You would *have* to be all out of options (including the placemats) for that to be the choice.
