People seemed interested in this when I was posting about it earlier, so I thought I'd actually try it out (it's shareware). I loaded it up and scanned in the stack of things on my coffee table. Here's the results:

It's very slick. It shows you a little video grab from the Mac's built in camera with a green outline box and some red gridlines. You wave the case around slightly with the barcode in the outline box, the Mac beeps, and you go on to the next one. After beeping, it reads out (in a machine generated voice) the title so you can check it scanned the right barcode without having to look at the screen. I was tearing through them as fast as I could pick them up and put them back down. The screen there is what I was presented with once I had scanned the boxes -- it looked up all the covers, details, etc on its own. I think that's damned impressive.
