I can't believe anyone's scared of that nonce. I'll be on the bloody jury if they like.

People of a certain background tend to pronounce "asked " as "axed".

I don't think it's that people are scared of him:

Quote:
Nearly everyone who paused when asked if he or she could give the singer a fair trial got the boot from either the judge or the defense.

Good luck with that, US legal system! Still, don't want any jurors who stop and think before giving an answer!

Nearly everyone. They can't say "Some people went 'AHAHAH! Er... yeah... maybe... hahahaha!"

Overeagerness to serve on the jury is a definite red flag to attorneys. When one man offered to rearrange a trip to see his parents, the prosecution bounced him for being star-struck.

Meanwhile, over in Crazy alternative worldland: Maybe he, like most people, just doesn't like his parents that much?

I'd try to get off a jury for a noncery case. Simply because I think I'd perhaps be persuaded by a good prosecution with a partially coherent argument.

Someone told me yesterday that nonce was prison slangcronym for "Not On Normal Circuit Excerise" i.e. "let him out in the yard with the rest of the boys and they'll shiv him in the arsehole until he bleeds to death". Which soundsabout right.

I'm going to pretend that he's on trial for doing fucking shit music. Should be a less traumatic experience for me then. I Believe I Can Fly warrants at least a five stretch.

I desperately want to be on a jury. Desperately. Any jury. Imagine the fun you could have. If nothing else, you could just pick a juror and loudly and vociferously maintain a position diametrically opposed to theirs, and make them cry.

Been there, done that.

On *both* points.

We found him not guilty, though.

I also really want to be on a jury. But specifically, I want to be on a jury with you Mr Chris. When I knew this, but you didn't. Oh, just IMAGINE how much fun we'd have!

We have to instigate an elaborate plot so that we all end up on the same jury. Immediately.

You clearly haven't been reading the "Motorcycles Rock" thread.
