http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/low/technology/8100394.stmThe story basically says that Virgin will be offering an iTunes style download service but for a set fee per month. They reckon the price would be comparable to "a couple of albums" a month.
Initially I like the sounds of this, providing the back catalogue is there to support it. I don't like popular music so I want obscure stuff to download and I would like good quality MP3s of them.
The fee would be absorbed by my current virgin bill so it would go from the joint account (don't tell the missus!) so on paper, it could be something I could be interested in.
The constant underlying threat of being thrown in jail if I use torrents is almost bearing down on my conscience. I'd like to play fair, if only they gave me a chance and this looks like it could be it.
What's everyone elses thoughts?
