Wahooo! It looks fucking ace, even prettier than GT5 and seems to be coming out before it as well. IN YOUR FACE POLYPHONY DIGITAL.

Official site of Officiality(TM): http://forzamotorsport.net/en-us/game/default.htm

Gameplay footage: http://www.eurogamer.net/videos/e3-forza-3-gameplay

Jazzy trailer: http://www.eurogamer.net/videos/e3-forz ... -3-trailer

High res screenshots that definitely aren't indicative of what the final game will actually look like on your telly, but still awesome: http://www.eurogamer.net/gallery.php?ga ... _id=596963

Fuckin' yeahhhh!

edit: For the sake of the forum's search function: FORZA 3 THREAD

You do SEO for a living, and your way to improve the searchability of this post is putting it in a larger font?

I don't see how Sealing Elephant Orifices makes you better at talking about car games.

I can't wait for this. Race Pro will do for the meantime, though.

Please say at least 12 for online shenanigans; preferably 16.

Pretty sure that was one of the areas they were looking at expanding on, but there's no info at all yet apart from "over 400 cars from x number of manufacturers" and the footage they released :(

I'm always surprised there are people who don't know how to pronounce Forza properly.

Not excited about this. Didn't enjoy Forza or Forza 2. Will read up, however, and follow it with slight interest.

No! It just isn't my style of racing game.

Anyway. Tell me something interesting about Forza 3.

He comes in here with his correct pronunciation and then admits to not even liking the game. Who does he think he is?

No, but it only showed them painting cars, in hyper-speed, twice. Was that really the Forza 3 version? Because it was exactly the same as the Forza 2 one.

Oh, right, well I think it was just the Forza 2 version with some "holmes" talking about how great it was and how good the Forza 3 one is gonna be. Or something.

I tired of F2 upsettingly quickly and that's damping my enthusiasm for this. I don't feel like I played the second nearly enough (I made it to level 20), or that the third is likely to offer anything significantly different to the second to get me addicted again.

I got up to level 30 with the pad, but after leaving it a year and going back to it on the wheel I got myself up to level 50.

It was a game where I enjoyed it loads and then all my enthusiasm just evaporated instantly. This also happened with Midnight Club and I think GRID too (it's too early to tell). Perhaps I'm going off driving games.

I've hardly used my Racing Wheel since I got it, I just haven't got anywhere I can set it up that feels "natural".

Also, have you seen the new racing wheel announced by Fanatec (or something) today for use with F3? Has a clutch pedal, flappy paddles and also a 6-speed H-pattern shifter, and it's based off a Porsche design. Oooooooh. Leather stitched steering wheel too.

My problem was that neither me nor me internet connection were good enough to make for collision-free online races, so it became an offline-only game. I enjoyed it as that, but it had a pretty short shelf-life.

Yeah, that's a shame, as the online aspect (with you good people) made it rise above good into great.

My problem with Forza 2 other than being not very good at it was the deeply deeply shit UI. It frequently felt like I was wading through dozens of screens every time I wanted to alter something to the point where getting the car you wanted, how you wanted and trying it out took multitudes longer than actually racing. If they could have a pull up tuning menu on the fly in races (Offline, naturally), I'd be a very happy bunny.

The other thing I didn't really like much was the feeble selection of tracks, many of which felt too small for anything higher than group B cars.

Really? I felt there were plenty. It took me a long time to learn each track properly, and there were usually different iterations of each one. Anymore would have been overkill for me.

I'd like to see the hill climbs and point to point races of the first game back in #3, though.

I've seen a few people complaining that Forza 2 didn't have enough tracks but I honestly don't understand where they're coming from. There was a perfect amount - any more and I'd have struggled to learn them.

I think it would have been the right number if all the stupid test tracks were actually real tracks.

But I'm we into my RPGs and FPSs at the moment. I'm still happy to play L4D, UT3, or GoW2. Mass Effect, Fable 2, and Fallout 3 rotate in my effections. I've been better about not just getting bored of games in the last year than ever before - except driving games.

It's a factor, even though it takes about a minute because my Xbox is mostly in my games room on the desk anyway. It does deter me from playing driving games with the pad.

I happen to agree with DBSnappa here. I've been trying to get some time on this lately and get some where in it. It's quite clever how they've done it but far too many race's for the tracks they have created. Iterations of the same track don't seem to change much and doing a couple more laps doesn't make the track magicly better either.

Also car selection is a bit toss having to go backwards and forwards to choose the car you want instead of being offered the chance to choose at the same time you choose the race.

Although I did go back and play PRG4 last night and that was distinctly worse than forza!

I'll use the wheel for a good long session and the pad for quick thrills. My wheel has a table bought for it - I usually have a futon sofa and a low desk with my 20" HDTV, so the telly goes on some boxes which raise it a few inches, then the table I got from ikea, basic little foldy yet sturdy thing, comes out along wiht my office chair, and the flat connecting bar between the legs keeps the pedals in place. Does take a few minutes setting up but then I'm set for the afternoon. The 360 wheel on most games is the ultimate racing controller, with practice. I use it infrequently but it is a luxury I feel I can afford, for Forza, MC:LA and Grid and Dirt and TD:U especially. And Outrun XBLA - it turns your lounge into the sit-down cabinet. Epic win.

I didn't get very far into Forza 2, but I did notice that whenever I got a powerful car, there were no tracks where I could truly use its power; every track felt cramped, and the many iterations really did grate on me. Did better, longer, more-open tracks unlock at all further through the game?

I'd love Forza if it focused less on realistic, recreated real tracks and more on completely fictional awesome journeys through mountainous terrain etc. Get rid of the boring laps of small, boring tracks, and make them a race from A to B, where B != A. I really don't like circuits.

Also, it's nice to see they appear to have an in-cockpit view in this one. I can't stand bumper cams.

I didn't get very far into Forza 2, but I did notice that whenever I got a powerful car, there were no tracks where I could truly use its power; every track felt cramped, and the many iterations really did grate on me. Did better, longer, more-open tracks unlock at all further through the game?

All the tracks are free for you to see in the time trials mode... Mugello is rather long and open, as is Road Atlanta. And there's always the Nurburgring, which is incredibvly long, awesome and challenging. The early 'snake' tracks are riotously rubbish and best forgotten.

I'd love Forza if it focused less on realistic, recreated real tracks and more on completely fictional awesome journeys through mountainous terrain etc. Get rid of the boring laps of small, boring tracks, and make them a race from A to B, where B != A. I really don't like circuits.

Then Forza's not for you, and shouldn't change to suit you either. That you also hate Outrun which seems to provide what you want is baffling. Maybe you need to go and play the original Need for Speed (which offered A to B races in sports cars) or Test Drive Unlimited? Forza is all about closed circuit racing, track days, etc.

Also, it's nice to see they appear to have an in-cockpit view in this one. I can't stand bumper cams.

Yup. I used the 'roof' camera, as that at least allows me to see some of my car without it completely dominating my view (as I find too many cockpit views do). The odd problem aside (my overly shiny 2000GT's hood making the 'Ramsea is only 2 inches behind you' indicator unreadable being the main one) it worked really well.
