To mark the occasion:

"This royal throne of kings, this scepter'd isle, This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars ... This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England"

I think St Grorge is the patron saint of beetroot farmers, and is held in high regard by the people of Estonia, where his symbol is worn as a protection against gout.

The fact that the patron saint of England was canonised for something even more obviously imaginary than the stuff the other saints did makes me smile. I like to imagine it was just pub talk that got a bit out of hand.

"Yeah? Well that's nuffin'. This one time, yeah? This one time, I killed a dragon."

"Cor, really George?"

"Yeah. Scales an' teef an' firey breaf an' everyfin. It weren't all that. Quick boot to the dragonballs, went down like Buddy Holly."

It's shakespeare's birthday*, too. I am very tempted to post the picture of me posing with the shakespeare portrait that I took last week while we were looking after it before it was opened to the public today, but that would get me fired so fast it's not even funny.

To mark the occasion, I shot a deer.

*Probably

If there is one thing that [strike]The Rock[/strike] Oscar Wilde taught me is that "Nationalism is a virtue of the vicious."

Nevertheless, the current big new thing is Schmoyoho with his "auto-tune the news. He also he has also auto-tuned a Winston Churchill speach and set it to music.

It manages to be both funny and chest pumpingly inspiring.

It's kinda feels like a British version of 'America! FUCK YEAH!'

EVIDENCE TO THE CONTRARY:

1) We can understand what you're saying.
2) You're reserved and quiet, happy to take a backseat (except in your electric cars, natch).
3) I have not heard you once say, 'Och, ahm rilly Scortish, ah ahm', and suchlike.
4) Another racist thing.
5) Stick that, Jimmy.
