Remedy aren't involved; it's not set in New York; it sounds shit.

What the hell is that doing in B&B?
Also: Rockstar? Did they buy out Remedy or something?

They published the second game (and the first one on the Xbox).

Remedy are working on Alan Wake, so Rockstar assigned the project to the guys who made Bully. I'm cautiously optimistic.

I love Max Payne. I hope this one doesn't fuck it up. I wonder if Mona will be in it?

Try and get a copy. It was very good, especially the dream sequences.

You're going to have to use your imagination here. What if, a few years after MP2, he decided to do something outlandish like—for example—growing a beard?

He'd probably look something like that, I reckon. Just a theory, mind.

Yep, excellent games. I've got Xbox copies of them if anyone wants a lend (360 compatible).

It still doesn't look anything like him, though.

So, an over the shoulder shooter with bullet time. Just what the video game scene was lacking.

I like the first one quite a bit. The second was irritating with its use of physics. Pretty much every game I've seen use physics has used it wrong and everything has just slid and floated around stupidly.

Max Payne 1 and 2 were (are!) both superb, although 1 chucked it away a bit with the dream/nightmare sequences, 2 was almost faultless. (And both stand up to multiple replays.)

If Rockstar have got their hands on it, I'm quite happy, since Remedy have been doing Max Payne 3/Alan Wake for the last 716 years now - wasn't it supposed to be one of the first DX10 games?

Remedy Silent About Alan Wake
Quote:
Surprise surprise, Remedy cannot comment on Alan Wake. The game that has been in development since man first learned to walk upon his hind legs has no news that can be shared with us. The world spins off its axis in shock.

"I can not tell you anything about Alan Wake right now, not even progress on Alan Wake," claims Oskari Häkkinen, head of franchise development. Whether or not that means an announcement is being saved for an upcoming event, or there's simply nothing to say, is anybody's guess. Those predicting an announcement at GDC this week may be disappointed, however.

At least one interesting tidbit is that the game has been compared to Silent Hill. Remedy says, there is a heavy focus on atmosphere, story and puzzle solving. That said, the game will contain no zombies. Considering how undead-heavy the current crop of games has been, that's something of a relief.

Still, this lack of anything substantial concerning Alan Wake is annoying. Right now, the game is outstaying its welcome, like a guy who's turned up at a party and is just standing in the corner, eyeballing everybody while contributing nothing.

Destructoid do good funnehs.
