Hi, err, quick question, there's some stains on the 10th, 6th and 2nd step and at the bottom of the stairs, there's some broken glass in the carpet, is there a good way to get rid of this? Also, does anyone know of a quiet canal, as I'm planning a boating holiday. Thanks in advance.

blu tack is good for glass in the carpet.

I seem to recall that you need to use an alchomohol based cleaner or the stains still show up when sprayed with Luminol. Just in case, y'know, someone comes around to, err... look.

I did a canal boat holiday once around Birmingham (Drayton Manor Park even has a canal dock entrance, and the bit under spaghetti junction is actually quite nice). Worst bit is you can tell you are nearing B'ham itself, as about 10 miles out is a 100m stretch of canal that is just dead fish foating around, and from there on in the water is brown...

Wrap the carpet around any heavy object and dispose of it somehow, it's the best way.

I'd imagine gaffer would be good as well. I often use it to defluff clothing before I go to meetings.
