Well hello there! It's that time of year again folks where you get to stalk your victim er, recipient and send them something amazing to make their Christmas rawk! :metul:

Rules of the game if you want to play are:

PM me your details(name & address) by Midnight November 20th with the subject line 'Secret Santa'.

I will be sending out your recipients details the next day, you then have about three weeks to stalk them and buy them something truly amazing!

I reckon try to have your gift sent out by about the second week of December so it gets there in plenty of time.

You may post in this thread, but you don't have to if you want to remain super secret and stalkerish!
    :ninja:

    I'm thinking of a cost limit of £5 - £10?

Over Christmas you take a photo of your gift and put it in this thread.

Try and make sure that you at least get proof of postage in case something goes astray, recorded delivery is always better so it can be tracked, but do whatever is within budget for you.

Try to update your Amazon wishlist, you can get the thingy (technical term, okay) so you can grab stuff from any site.

Last posting dates;

Wednesday 20th December Second Class and Recorded Signed For
Thursday 21st December First Class and Recorded Signed For

Any further thoughts or anything you think I've missed, feel free to post in this thread or drop me a PM. :)

Thank you Santa, for my Deadpool and Iron Man Lego-a-like model things! Based on the packaging I imagine there's some sort of AR/mixed reality stuff with it and scanning QR codes, but I await with bated breath!

Thanks Santa! It's a bottle cap frame shaped in some kind of Baltic country. Will look at a map later to see if I can work out which one it is.

Serious cultural question:

Do "you people" buy new christmas sweaters every year?

Also, some really great presents all around. When me and my friends did secret santa, i bought a deck of cards with porno pictures for 1€ on a Chinese shop.

No. I bought one many years ago which has been passed on to my husband and I’ve bought myself a rather lovely pure wool replacement with robins on the yoke. It’s Christmassy, but not so Christmassy that it’s too novelty-ish. Proper novelty sweaters are more for offices, Christmas Day and charity days. A lot of places have a charity ‘Christmas Jumper Day’ but I can’t see why anyone would buy a new one every year. Why do you ask though?

This is my lovely jumper. Excuse that the picture quality makes it look like I took the photo with a potato.

Thanks for the clarification. I asked because this Christmas my mom said we should do like the English and buy a new fancy sweater every year. I doubted that claim, so here I am.

And that's a really lovely sweater by the way :)

Hehe, I think it’s perhaps because the shops are full of ‘Christmas Jumpers’ in December and it’s a bit of fun, but really Christmas Jumper day has only taken off as an event linked with charity these past few years do there is still quite a market for them as more people get on board. Plus it can be quite cute and a bonding experience when everyone takes part. My family all have matching elf pyjamas, too.

Yeah I remember when the Christmas jumpers thing was just people wearing the jumpers they had been bought for Christmas by their nan or whoever. These weren't Christmas jumpers as such but just massive wooly stripey jumpers from M&S or somewhere and people would take the piss out of each other for them. Then the shops latched onto the joke and started making actual Christmas jumpers.

I’m not really a fan of a lot of Christmas ‘things’ (elf on the shelf, I am looking at you), but the Christmas jumper thing makes me happy. With the pressure so many people feel to look cool and adhere to latest fashion trends, it’s great to see people looking so very uncool, even if ironically. Basically it brings everyone down to my level :D

I have a sense it just makes people look cheery.

And Lord Rixondale's. And Chinny's, I guess ;)

I liked it, but not as much as the first one. The "create this game in real life" bits fell a bit flat, and I think it had too many guest spots (and each one felt the need to tell us how precious their pocket money was).

Surprised to see no mention of AP in the "Lowest review ever" bit, too.

I agree on the "create this game in real life" bits but I enjoyed all the guest spots.

I think I enjoyed the book more because I remember playing one of the games in it to death on my Atari. Castle top fact fans!

They were a surprise! They were addressed to 3 doors down as well so the postman was all over the place trying to deliver them.
