One is older and one is younger, they just happen to be in the same time and place. (Assuming you mean the Master and Missy meeting?)

Usually something's gone very wrong for it to happen though. Usually they can't cross their own timestream.

Then again 9 did it on purpose in Father's Day. :s

That was awesome.

Very glad I don't watch the 'Coming next week...' sections if it gave any of that away.

Can't wait to see the conclusion. Is the episode next week the last one?

I think I need to stop watching them altogether. I never watch it if it's a cliffhanger, but usually watch the trailer for the next week just to wet the appetite. The big reveal would have been better if we didn't know who was coming back, but that had been talked about in the pre-series publicity. Admittedly, I didn't work out who it was but even knowing it's coming takes a bit of the edge of.

Mindblown. Might need to have a nap, rewatch, then try to put my thoughts into prose. Or at least stay away from the Internet for a bit.

So...

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
I'm assuming that David Bradley is playing the first Doctor, and not a new Doctor? And that Capaldi will regenerate in the Xmas episode after some sort of epiphany?

Does that seem right?

Rewatched it yesterday. So many good things.

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
- It took the second viewing to get the 'knock yourself out' gag
- The Master's flirting with Missy was charmingly disgusting
- The mirror reveal for Bill was uncomfortable enough, but the shadow on the wall was even scarier
- Normally not happy about the Doc indulging in mass extermination but given the situation and his warning that they'd changed from wanting to 'help' to attacking on a military footing made sense. Ish.
- Missy laid out like Ophelia. Nice touch.
- Every scene with John Simm in it.
- The end. I was hoping for a surprise introduction to the new doc, but the old one will do (DB was excellent in 'An Adventure in Time and Space'). Only regret is that we'll probably know all about the next doctor (please be Gaywood) long before the actual regeneration
- The Doc's speech about doing the right thing in front of Missy and the Master. Love it when Capaldi gets to do those kinds of things.
- Yeah, I don't care how contrived it was, I liked that Bill got an afterlife with the puddle lady
- Loved the cameos of the ex-companions. Shame 12 never got to meet Jack
- And more.

In short, it was a great end to an excellent series.

At the end of Newsnight last night, they said that Phoebe Waller Bridge (the very funny lady from Fleabag) is a shoe in and she may have accidentally confirmed (by very awkwardly dodging the question and saying she can't talk about it) it in a Vlog. She was already the bookies favourite but before that had vigorously denied it. Which is good news, but also potentially means no more Fleabag, which is not such good news.

There's even an article on The Guardian about it.

She would be good, though it would add one more thing to the list of stuff I can't talk to my Dad about.

If it's that twat from My Family I might give up on the show. It would be the laziest casting ever.

They couldn't possibly be going for another white man, could they? After all that shit about how time lords can change sex? "Is the future all girl?" "Let's hope so"

It'd be very disappointing if it's Kris Marshall. He'd be a fine Doctor, but how could he do anything new? His wacky goofy schtick would fall between Tennant and Smith quite nicely. Could he do gravitas? I just don't know.

That Guardian article mentioned above is worth it for the description of a Kris Marshall portrayal as being "a fake Irish pub of a Doctor".

It makes a good point about him being a good choice as companion, but didn't Arthur Darvill cover that ground pretty comprehensively

It's short (as in, not loads of episodes). Gobble it up. Bloody brilliant.

As was that Dr Who. My goodness, excellent and heart-renching, and just enough new hope at the end to leaven the thing.

They chicken out of the Adric deaths a lot (although virtually everyone on Torchwood died)

Spoilers if you've not seen the last episode

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
So Bill gets to live as a water creature with the pilot after being turned into a Cyberman and dying on the battlefield
Donna loses all her memories but lives a 'normal' life
Clara 'dies' but is brought back from just before she died and goes off to live as long as she wants in a Tardis with 'me' before returning to Gallifrey to 'die'
Amy and Rory get zapped back in time to die of old age (after Rory dies so many times in the series as normal)
River 'dies' the first time we saw her but she could still be around just because of the way her timeline warps

None of them really die in the same way that they did death in the original series (e.g. Adric)

Wikipedia has a list of actual deaths and its really just Adric and the timey wimey stuff with Clara

Good choice - good actress without being a massive 'star' name so no baggage and that.

Loving (laughing at) many of the predictable outraged Twitter comments already.
