I'm around most of the time and am in charge of work's phpBB forum, which probably means I'd be a useful mod, but it doesn't look like there's a shortage of candidates - especially if all the current mod team stand again - and I don't think I really want to be one. Also, I'm due to be in America for the election period, without much (if any) net access.

Two things you need to know before voting Grim...:
I'm going to try and get rid of the "no linking to torrents and pirated stuff" rule
I will still be a forum admin, so don't vote for me just because of my skills using the software - if anything goes wrong I'll still be able to fix it, mod or not.

Surely as the man with the exposure if that causes trouble, it's solidly in your hands alone anyway?

Regardless I'm with you for little things, I don't think we want direct links to Crysis here though just for the people that shit attracts.

I agree, and as I've just said to the Gaywood, "mods can (and should) still have a chat if [links are] all someone is posting".

I think I've grown into the role over the last six months, and despite a couple of instances where I've made the wrong decisions, I believe I've been doing a good job. I've learnt a lot and I'd love to continue keeping you fuckers in line to help maintain the excellence on this board.

To be fair, all five moderators have done a good job in the last six months. Apart from yourself, Craster, Jasmine and Zardoz.

To be fair, I'm 90% sure that Zardoz and Craster are just sock puppet accounts that are run by you anyway. You're drunk with power, man, as well as alcohol. If you look closely at the Shunt and Nottingham photos, you can see the system of wires you use to pilot Craster's lifeless body with your feet.

I couldn't really care less about who's moderating, but I'd be more inclined to vote if those putting themselves forward stated their intentions, just like Grim... did up there.

Well my campaign such as it is, is pretty simple.

I've modded places a lot bigger than this.
I'm here all the bloody time.
I think we'd all agree I've got no problem making myself a little unpopular if I have to.

This place doesn't need a lot of changes, Grim...'s right about a limited amount of copyrighted stuff, I'd like to get rid of the subforums that are all but empty because no-one sees the threads (and there's bugger all of them) and I need better access to beat gaywood till the front page happens.

Shit, I haven't thought this through. 90% of the visible progress over there wasn't even me, it was Jasmine and Devilman (although I did spend a thankless 10 hours or so copy/pasting articles over and fixing up the presentation). Drifting off topic, we need the accounts syncing stuff to work so we can nominate sub-eds from here to distribute the uploading-content task.

I definitely don't want to be a moderator. I'm waaaaaaaaaay to lazy for that shit. I'd also be a malignant moderator, kicking people out for whimsical reasons.

As I don't know any of you personal I shall be able to act impartially and in the interests of all. Or to put it another way - as I dislike everyone equally I shall be equally biased against everyone. Including myself.

If you vote for me in I'll do the basic expectation of any moderator. Clip spam, fix broken tags, general mundane maintenance. I don't think 'policies' beyond a few basic rules need anything more than a quick chat between mods ot reach a consensus. Errr, and that's pretty much it.

No really, this is the sum total of my pitch.

It felt like 10 days but was very dull; I'm estimating based on that. It probably was more like five hours spent with the laptop infront of the telly whilst also chatting on IM etc. Not exactly flat out.

However if you add in the time I spent drawing up the site structure, familiarising myself with Joomla, unsuccessfully looking for themes, and sorting out all the category hierarchies and it probably wasn't far off ten hours.

I did about a third of the reviews forum I think, maybe a bit more.

I wouldn't mind if the current moderators were all in charge again, but I've put myself forward anyway. I've moderated many forums before on Jolt.co.uk, as well as being a public server admin on their CS servers for a good few years. And I'm here all of the time. Although, I don't really post that much.

It was whether to have a link to the phpbb database or not that rather stopped me in my tracks as I didn't want to put too much work into it if it had to be undone at some point anyway. There might not be a need to link the databases at all - if mods want to do content uploading, accounts can be easily enough created in the Joomla backend.

That said, if it did authenticate against the users on here, it'd be useful for stuff like the puArcade add-on as it supports thousands of games and has high score support. (I use it on my own site but I've only put a handful of the games on so far as there's a lot of drivel to wade through).

However, if it's just a case of plonking the rest of the content across, I can do that pretty quickly. I think format sub-categories for the Reviews would come in handy though.

Whoever supplies the most Haribo wins.

Subeds will be dealing with the content on the site, not the mods.
