I've had an Optoma HD600 for quite a few years now and the lamp life had been exceeded about a year ago.
It developed a problem of it colour flickering after a while of being on then gradually it got shorter and shorter times until it went wrong.
I bought a replacement bulb which made the unit switch off again shortly after being switched on. So I assume that bulb didn't work.
Now on putting the old one back in it comes on and stays on but the colour is flickering from the start. Do I need a replacement bulb or is it likely something else that's the issue?

Googling suggests dust inside causes this problem. Pulling it apart and hoovering the crap out seems to work.
