Ooh, I meant to say, I forgot my memory card in London and I am travelling back there today, so when I arrive I will have to start my garden from scratch again, so I'll be back to whirlms and bispottis, so you'll all be racing ahead of me :(

I've had the first game for a while now (bought it for Ange) and haven't really touched it. I started to play it last night and it seems like a fun game to play when you don't want to have to concentrate too hard.

yeah it does get hectic. I had a couple of bunnycombs fenced away for their protection but decided that it seemed a bit Guantanamo Bay so I freed them and now they're both dead. Bah!

I broke my promise to myself to not buy any new games on account of it recently being my biffday (and I didn't go back to work yet so it still is biffday weekend) and I went to Morrisons and well. I haven't took the wrapping off yet, but I'm going to have a mooch on it tonight.

What? The man himself actually comes into your garden, invulnerable, and directly kills Pinata? And I thought the Ruffians coming in and barfing sour sweets and breaking fences and ruining ponds was bad enough!

In the original, you could buy the Captain's Cutlass from Ivor Bargain and it would stop Ruffians ever coming in again.

As I said earlier, the whole 'Professor Pester' thing seriously needs to fuck off so we can just enjoy the game. Not least of all because it makes absolutely no sense - so, he tried to cut corners, and Jardinero sacked him, but now he wants revenge? For what, getting sacked because of his own stupidity? Why not just start his own garden elsewhere?

Gah.

Foxy Tanya is dead? Noooooooooo :'(
I have not yet worked out a way of banishing him all together, but if when he enters the garden you put your cursor over him and give him 500 or so coins by pressing the 'give' prompt, he figures that's good enough chocolate coinage and runs off.

Professor pester is evil, and he always directly targets your most valuable Pinata, the git.

I am just making something to eat and then I am going to start the game all over again.

I'll send you Pinata mail, Ace :D

Nowhere interesting, it was in my box of hats, for some reason. I forgot that it was pink and saw it three time before it twigged that I was staring right at it, because I was looking for an off-white controller.

Found controller > done.

Recovered gamertag > done.

XBox 360 update > done.

Quick cup of tea and then zoooooommmmmm!

This game boggles my noggin. I don't think I will ever do well at it. It seems like trying to knit with five hands at once, while juggling eggs on spoons so the cat can't eat them.

I don't think it is a game that you either do well or badly at - I mean, it doesn't require much in the way of motor skills or coordination of the hands, but rather trying to keep in mind what four or five different species are doing, how t help them to their objectives and how to protect them all at once.

It's a bit overwhelming at first, but just try and enjoy the colours and all of teh plants and animals at first and it just 'clicks' and then you, Ace, will be suckered in... Just wait for it, I can feel the draw of VP slowly putting its feelers out for you, Ace, slllluuurrrpppp, slllurrrrppppppp.

The decoy definitely always works. You've just got to always keep 825 chocolate coins back to buy a new one when it gets destroyed. I spent ages last night farming snap dragons to get me 20,000 chocolate coins.

I'm sure Pester didn't come round every single game day in the last one. I wondered if I was imagining it, but I checked last night and in over two hours of play he came round every day, like clockwork.

I think we're establishing why I don't want this game, I'd get way to attached to them. If there's any situation they get killed I'd upset myself :(

Sparrowmints eat your worms. Just keep the sparrows, clear a little bit of soil and breed more whirlms, they'll turn up in a matter of seconds, they aren't fussy.

Breed seven of them into your garden before selling a few (I usually keep about four around the place, for cuteness and to attract other pinata.)

Poor worms. They're only little. Some sour snail thing showed up but I don't know if it did anything, the game was too busy shoving things in my face, and then stuff was going on.

Stuff will go on, Ace.

The sour shellybean will eat any spare seeds or not yet mature pants that you have about the place, it's not that bad a pest, there are worse, but you are long off them. If you want, you can whack it with a shovel, but it will drop two seeds if you do that - make sure you crack those seeds or whack the weeds with your shove to stop them spreading - they are weed and usually have a negative effect on your animals.

You can't take it too seriously, Ace. It's quite a gentle game once you get over the initial 'arragghhhh'-ness of it, but that doesn't last long and most things become automatic, I think.

When you get home, attract a couple of whirlms (by getting a small patch of bare soil), then breed a few (seven is the magic number - it will unlock you an achievement) then feed a whirlm or two a turnip and see what happens :D

I don't have any turnips. :( I tried to get a whirlm to look interested in something to eat (a seed) but I couldn't select the seed because the workshop was near it and the spinny cursor kept glomming onto that. I had to wait for it to finish before I could do anything remotely near it. I will noodle on it more tonight, but I'm rubbish at RTS games (which is what this seems to be, under the twee).

You will have turnips - go to Costalot's store and buy a turnip seed. Plant it in a hole to make it grow faster, water it once, it grows in about five seconds, feed it to a whirlm.

Turnips also attract the meeces. Mice are cute!

Seedos will give you a couple of seeds for free, but there is also a store in the village, top petal of the village list, called Costalots. A turnip will set up back about 2 coins, which is nothing. There are a few different seeds there to start with (about four) but soon there will be more.

Hehe, I love that.

I imagine you, standing in an office, finger aloft, saying loud and strong 'there shall be turnips tonight!'

I love the sweetles!

Awww :luv:

Someone cranked up the cute on the second game!

The sweetle looks like a teeny elephant when a wildcard :D

That's the snuffly fella I had to make a sandpit for. I saw another one in the desert, but I dunno how to get it back to my garden. Probably in the same way I spose.

Yeah, Ace, just trap another one in the desert and bring him back to your main garden.

Dimrill, it sounds like yours has been nabbed by a light-fingered postie, to me. I ordered one from play.com and it arrived on release day, it definitely should be there by now :(

Oh, Dimrill, that's just poo :( I sent you a special celebratory pinata crate of something fun because I was sure it would turn up today.

This is pooey indeed.

Oh, I found out last night that if you send someone a tamed sour and they haven't yet tamed that sour, the sour version will come out of the crate and be unkillable.

My wife sent me a bonboon and was horrified when the crate was busted open by a very angry sour. Luckily, apart from filling in some pond, he didn't do any damage before leaving.

Oh no! Did I do this to someone by accident - Richie - did I send you a tamed sour? Had you already tamed it? Did I send you and angry untamed sour by accident?! If I did I am really sorry :S I had no idea - I am sure I sent one to someone.

Oh, I haven't actually received it yet, because I have had to start the garden again :P

It came through about ten minutes ago, and I was just about to grab some lunch before I put him in my garden - I'll put him in teh flower garden, just in case. He can do little damage there!

Like the Bosch triptych? Most excellent!

Rev Owen - the Crowla arrived and he is lovely - I have not tamed one before but he didn't revert to his sour self, he's just wandering around the garden in his wizards house looking cute!

I never got a message from your wife, but i will send her a note to let her know he has arrived and is cute as a button.

So, I appear to be having trouble with the romancing minigames, especially the custacean and newt, things like that. The custacean took me about 25 goes to get all of the hearts.

Is it fiddly or am I just rubbish?

Your honesty counts, folks.
