A friend of mine has recently deleted a folder on his Android phone while upgrading. He now wants that folder back as it contains lots of pictures he wants.

Does anyone know of a way to recover the data? He's been quoted £500 by one company, so I thought I'd best ask here to see if anyone can help him.

It will really depend on what the update did in terms of writing to the storage on the phone.

I would get the tool that has been suggested and act quickly, the longer he leaves this more the risk increases of him loosing it for good, as the phone will be writing to the storage all the time as he uses it.

If the lost folder was on a separate SD card then he should remove that straight away.

Ah right, I think I should have been a bit more specific as I've found out a bit more. My friend upgraded to a new phone, so the one with the lost data is turned off and unused for now so that's not a problem.
