Hmmm... Is the QR code the way you add friends? I've just scanned you and it seemed to want to create a new Mii of you, on my game.
My daughters got the ipad now anyway so I'll have to have a good look later on.

No, from what I can tell you have to link together via either Teitter or Facebook, and scan your contacts there, OR I think you can add the friends of friends, so if Sat was my friend, you can look through my friends list and request adding him from there.
