Why would you need so many n64s? That's just greedy!

They've got an Atari 800XL. I used to have one of those. Loved it, before I knew any better.

How is that a dream gaming room? It's like a dream kitchen filled with just a load of mouldy old shite.

I still have mine but I don't know if it still works. I hope it does. It was ace!

There were some top games like Clowns and balloons, Alley cat and Bop n wrestle. I'm planning on revisiting it soon to see if it all works and if I can remember how to load everything.

Yeah, I think that's right but there was also something that required just one button when turning it on. Cartridges maybe?

Remember when people thought brightly-coloured translucent plastic was cool.

You don't think those N64s look cool? Seriously? I think they look ace. I'd rather have a console like that then just a standard matt black version.

1) I came in here to see a D:Ream room. Disappointed.

2) I am not a fan of untreated wood. That unit need varnishing or something. Plus it looks a bit messy so what about some shelves instead.

3) Those posters are rubbish too. What about putting them in a nice frame or something? They seem a bit creased though so maybe they should be replaced with something else.

4) I'm only just over 5 foot. How the hell am I supposed to reach those light switches. Or is a ceiling fan? Either way, I can't reach them.

5) The TV is too high and/or too small for the position. I don't want to crane my neck upwards when I'm playing games.

Thank you for listening.

Yep, it's a nice enough collection, but I really wouldn't want it all laid out on some wonky shite shelving like that.

I built a dream games room for a client last year. Fitted units to hold his consoles/PC/Surround receiver with rebated doors and IR extenders so all controllers would work with cabinet doors closed. 5.1 surround sound with all speakers mounted with wires concealed behind walls. 4k digital projector and a fitted 108" screen. All units were stained black and matt varnished to cut reflections. Room was painted deep purple with a very dark grey ceiling. Had a wraparound dark brown leather sofa that would sit 4. It also doubled as a cinema room, obviously.

Sensible. Who wants to play rubbish old games when you can play shiny new ones?

What did you do about cooling with those heat-spewing consoles in enclosed cabinets?

Every time I see something like that I'm tempted to convert my loft into a home cinema.

No backs on the cabs and tons of space around them. Those units beneath the screen are 650mm high, which basically means that the PS4 and Xbone were sitting on individual shelves 600mm wide, 600 deep and 300 high. Plus, you didn't have to close the doors if you didn't want ;)

I'm doing ours next year. The missus thinks it's going to be a spare bedroom…
Technically, there will be a sofa bed in there.

Ours would be relatively easy to do, as the other flights of stairs stack on top of each other, and there's room to go straight up from the landing into the loft.

I've got solar panels on the roof at the back of the house so could only have lights on the front, but it would be a reasonable sized room with the screen on the end wall.

The biggest drawback is that the loft is full of old consoles and computers which I'd have to do something about.

I'd be a little concerned about those polystyrene ceiling tiles.

I've already got one of the spare bedrooms as an "office" with a desk, bookcases, shelving for consoles, 40" TV, settee, Lego, Meerkats and so on.

I'm really looking forward to having ours. It might come sooner rather than later if me and Joans keep needing to use the kitchen at the same time (my 'office' is in the dining end).

That photo just proves that the Master System is the most beautiful console. Except for those 70's consoles with wooden parts. Those looked amazing.
