At Christmas in 2012, a good friend of ours (myself and MrsA) lost her father very suddenly to heart disease. To raise money for the BHF, I shall be walking the Yorkshire 3 Peaks. This is 24 miles (about what you can really expect to do in a day) up 3 big, big hills. 3,000 feet of climbing (up the Shard 3 times.by the stairs), in less than 12 hours. I think 10 is realistic to aim for.

This is really going to hurt, I am genuinely nervous over it. As is my walking partner who has just realised it is him and I. For 10 hours.

Any and all donations gratefully received. I shall recount the experience at the BBQ with a sideshow.

Here is a map and gradient profile.

Thank you all in advance, you wondrous, generous people.

I have forced a training march in the Peak District this weekend*. It is going to piss it down as we do 20 miles. You get your money's worth in my misery, you know.

Give early, give often.

*In fairness, it was sort of planned by both of us.

:this:

Prime biker territory too; something of a Mecca for us two-wheeled fiends. :)

Is anyone else having problems with the JustGiving site? Three times in the past fortnight I've attempted to use it (for different things) and it just gets stuck at a random point in the process and the continue/submit buttons stop working. :(

I'll try again at home...

Yeah, I have in the past but not this time.

On one previous occasion it appeared to "hang" at the final donation confirmation (and wouldn't show the donation), so I restarted three times. Then I found out a day later that all had actually gone through (and the donations miraculously appeared), so I ended up donating a shedload!

My hip is a bit stiff this morning. Cat and Fiddle has great views and the Goyt Valley us lovely. 5 pints of Malt Based Recovery Beverage and a donner kebab helped last night. Here is a picture of a shrine I took on the way.
