Hello.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 i1900 that I want to use, however it won't let me do so. I forgot my swipey password thing and need to log in via the email address and password page. It says, "to unlock, sign in with your Google account." Yet, I can't get in. I know it is the right password as I am logged into my account on the PC and logged out and checked. I have tried switching 2-stroke verification on and off, nothing seems to get me access. Does anyone know what is going on?

I should note that the log in with the 2-stroke verification calls itself an "app password", but I can't seem to find a "device" password anywhere.

How about restoring factory settings? Doesn't seem to need a log in.

Generating an app specific password might work https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/185833?hl=en) although, technically I'm not sure which app you need to specify.

Another suggestion I've seen is to change your google password and then try again (giving it a few minutes to register the change).

Don't suppose you've got usb debugging turned on?

Or there's this, http://en.miui.com/thread-21391-1-1.html whuch seems to imply it will work from stock recovery (turn your phone off, hold down vol up and home while you press the power button, keep vol up and home pressed until you're in recovery mode), so you might want to not bother with a pattern anymore anyway :p

I have tried the app password thingy, but it doesn't seem to work, but as you say it seems to imply "app" rather than "device". Will have a look at the other things this evening, thanks.

Annoyingly I remembered my swipey pass last night, but am now locked out of that aspect.
