Remember that it's things that were made / released in 2014, not things you finally got around to playing/watching/etc.

Best PC/Console/Handheld console Game:
Hearthstone. Many many many hours spent playing this, this year.

Best phone/tablet game:
Quizup (yes the original version was released in 2013, but the android version was released in 2014, so fuck you)

Best film:
Chef. Refreshingly upbeat and cliche-less

Best TV show:
If it has to be one that had a first series this year, then i'd go with "Halt and Catch Fire". If it can be one that had a previous series, then House of Cards (US)

Best book:
Super Powered's by Drew Hayes. I'll have to go with Year 3 as that is the 2014 one, but all of them are great. You should check them out as they are free on the internet (http://www.drewhayesnovels.com). It's basically Harry Potter/Hunger Games/X-Men, but well written and amusing. If you liked his vampire accountant book, you'll love these.

Best single:
"Let it go", obv.

Best album:
No idea, don't really do albums anymore.

Best concert/gig:
Didn't go to any :(

Best meal:
The Fat Duck. Amazing food, amazing experience, amazing price tag!

Best PC/Console/Handheld console Game:
Console: Mario Kart 8 - (sorry Dark Souls 2)
Handheld:

Best phone/tablet game:
Desert Golfing - meets the true need of phone gaming perfectly.

Best film:
It should be something highbrow like the brilliant 'Imitation Game' but nothing matched Guardians of the Galaxy for pure joy. I've high hopes for Birdman and Nightwalker to pip it though.

Best TV show:
I've been mostly working through shows from pre-2014 - so I'll have to go with Game of Thrones

Best book:
Released this year? The third Last Policeman book.

Best single:
Er...

Best album:
Oh god...

Best concert/gig:
Damn...

Best meal:
In Arizona I had so many amazing meals, but the best was, stupidly, the Hot Dog stand from Breaking Bad.

Best PC/Console/Handheld console Game:
It seems I finished very few PC/console games this year that were actually released this year so The Wolf Among Us wins.

Best phone/tablet game:
This was a bit of a toss-up between Monument Valley, Shadow Blade, The Room 2 and Traps n' Gemstones but in the end I'm going for The Room 2 as it's wonderful.

Best film:
This is harder to answer as, unlike games with the incredibly useful Finish 52 thread, I don't keep track of what I have and haven't watched. Off the top of my head I'd need to go with Gone Girl as it was definitely released this year and I really, really liked it.

Best TV show:
Game of Thrones is the obvious answer, though Boardwalk Empire gets an honourable mention. And though they're not in the same league as those I'm really enjoying the current series' of Toast of London and The Newsroom.

Best book:
Shamefully the only book I read this year was Stonemouth which was published in 2012 so doesn't count. I have spent a lot of time reading comics though so I'm going for Saga in this category. There might actually be other stuff I'm reading that I'd put above it but I'm having a total brain-fart at the moment about all the comics I read and Saga is certainly consistently good enough to qualify.

Best single:
I don't do singles, except in as much as they appear on the albums I buy so this is tricky to answer but, looking at the albums I bought recently, I'll go with Out of the Black by Royal Blood.

Best album:
Again I haven't bought a lot of albums this year that actually came out this year but from the set I can identify I'll go with .5: The Gray Chapter by Slipknot. Honourable mentions to Lamb, Royal Blood, Mogwai and Skrillex. I didn't think much of the latter's Recess when I first heard it but got very into it after a few listens.

Best concert/gig:
The always brilliant Nine Inch Nails.

Best meal:
I don't do the kind of high-falutin' posh eating that you guys do so this is as pointless a category for me as leaving comics out is outrageous! ;) However my calendar says that I've eaten at the always delicious Ubiquitous Chip three times this year so let's go with one of those occasions.

I assumed you could choose a comic or graphic novel (book) as a book.

I have no idea what that might be, but from the very name of the band and the location, it sounds like you're trying to out-hipster Myp.
