Lot of discussion about this guy been released after 48 years in prison for shooting 3 Police Officers.

Part of me thinks 48 years is a long time inside, another wonders what if it was my relative he shot?

Also read that in 2009 he was denied parole as he threatened to kill some women who owned the place he was doing day release work at.

So not 100% sure how much of a changed man he is.

Probably quite a changed man, 48 years later. He's 78, pretty sure that puts him a way out of the gangs and armed robbery business.

He'll be dead soon anyway, let him have a decrepit wander round and a look at what he could have won by not being a murderous piece of shit.

What's cheaper: looking after him in prison or looking after him in a residential home?

He's out on licence so one sniff of trouble and he is back in clink. Murderers are very rarely recidivists, either, studies have shown. I can't say I am bothered either way in this paticularly case but glad I live in a country where people do get let out. Did anyone hear the thick as pigshit copper talking about this on radio 4's pm a few weeks ago? The police need to enforce a minimum standard based on his level of intelligence managing to contradict himself every other sentence and say hiw it wasn't right.
