He does do a bit of talking under his breath a bit. Clara gabbles quickly too. Am I getting old?

What to you sounds like mumbling is in fact just a Scottish accent.

Not quite as good as Mummy but still a pretty good episode. Jamie Mathieson seems to know best out of all the current writers in how to write an episode...

That was possibly my favourite of the series. If not best then certainly up there.

It's starting to hit its stride, IMO, even if it's more about Clara than The Doctor.

I enjoyed this more than I was expecting. A decent short story, with a mystery that didn't involve evil aliens taking over Cardiff London. A bit fantastical, but within the tale made sense. The use of fairy tale elements such as the girl's red coat was a nice touch too.

WHERE WERE ALL THE PEOPLE? Trafalgar Square was empty apart from the Doctor and Maeve.

Current ratings for me for the Capaldi series:

Deep Breath 5
Into the Dalek 7
Robot of Sherwood 3
Listen 5
Caretaker 6
Time Heist 7
Kill the Moon 2
Mummy on the Orient Express 9
Flatline 8
Forest in the Night 3

Which seems to work out at an average of 5.5. Which suggests I'm enjoying it more than I thought...

I didn't think Kill the Moon was all that bad, but otherwise agree with Pundie Bear.

My brief thoughts:

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
That is some world class trolling by Moffatt.

Build it up over a series, and then make it look like you're actually doing a horrifically shitty afterlife thing. And then don't do it.

Really enjoyed the interaction between Capaldi and Gomez. Set up beautifully for next week. Yay!

I only managed to get 45 minutes into the hour long special finale. And that took some doing. Missy is basically John Simm all over again. HATE. And not really liking what is being done with the Doctor either. Terrible. Moffat can do one. As they say.

I thought it was very good. A little contrived in the ending, perhaps, but enjoyed Missy and some of the shocks.

I thought that was pretty bad. Nonsensical, overblown poorly directed and lacking any tension.

She was great. It was excellent having a female version of the Master, and turned it into more of a sexual tension thing rather than men competing with each other.

Really? I didn't think there was the slightest bit of sexual tension. But what I object to most was the stupid manic way they are treating that character now. UGH. Scary poppins...

I liked the false opening titles, and Missy was excellent. I felt a bit underwhelmed by the rest of it. Flying Cybermen look stupid, not scary (other than the 'Twilight Zone' reference on the plane). The idea of reanimating the world's corpses could have worked, but perhaps not by making them Cyberzombies.

They didn't explain how the 'Cyber-Zombies' were actually made though. That annoyed me.

Yes they did.

The cloud was a 'cyber cloud' each part of the 'rain' was coded with what a cyberman was. Missy had altered the code so it would work on the dead.

This. Some kind of zombinefication liquid would make sense, but an entire exoskeleton and circuity?

On the other hand, the thought of all the world's dead coming back is pretty scary.
