45 miles!

My first bus was late, and then broke down, waited 45 minutes for the 2nd bus, which had it's engine blow up at speed! Big swerve to the left, and then a crawl to a lay-by. No sign of a replacement bus, so a mile and half walk along the hard shoulder of the a38 til South Brent, where I asked my wife to pick me up from. However, she missunderstood where I was, so went past the broken down bus, turned around, and came back again.

Decided I wanted Fish and Chips, but it was far too late as the chippie had closed for the day! (It closed at 20:00 I know I live in rural Devon, but 20:00! FFS!) So, I normally leave work at 16:45 and get hom about 18:20-18:30, yesterday I got home, just before 21:00!

I'm all booked in from Thursday.

When all you need is a bush?

Huh, it's in Cheltenham. Might be worth dropping Kissyfur a line, he's local.

Was pretty sickened to see Prince Charles donning a whole chestful of medals in front of GENUINE D-Day vets yesterday, some of whom had to face 20% survival odds. Is he for real? How dare he in such illustrious company!

What did he do to earn them and what are they for? Gardening and jam-making, or pissing off Architects perchance?

I suspect he is advised what he has to wear, and knows that they are worthless but doesn't feel strong enough about it to stand up and say no.

He could, and should, say no, but I would be surprised if he thought they had value.

I have got a mug of hot peanut butter drink. I've just put in a pinch of salt.

Oh.

I am reliably informed that hot chocolate with a spoonful of peanut butter in is the best thing ever. Sounds mental to me though.

I presume there's a medical context here and you're not just on some kind of super hard-core (I.e. hilariously dangerous) diet?

Oh, yeah, sorry, I remember you mentioning it now. Apologies dude, I'm quite drunk right now. Anyway, surely that means you've just been taking the excuse to live on a diet of ice cream since the operation? And ice cream is proper food no matter what anyone tells you

Ice cream has been just as painful. The pain hasn't been a raw pain that is soothed by ice for me, it's been more like throat and tongue muscle pain, swallowing has been difficult regardless of what it is.

I wish to be quite drunk right now but the powers that be decided against that. Instead, I have tidied the ground floor of MaliTowers and now the sun is out. I shall attempt a sortie to a pub tomorrow, though.

I was being a bit glib as I've never had my tonsils out but, if it helps, I had so many bouts of ridiculous tonsillitis when I was young that I and my parents wished they would just whip the fucking things out. Seriously, I had bouts so bad that when my temperature would spike I'd think I was a character from whatever TV show I'd watched last. It was awesome! By which I mean terrifying and horrific.

I can sympathise though in that what you describe sounds like how I felt when I got my tongue pierced years ago, it was a soup-only diet for me for weeks. Which was excellent given how much weight I lost. Hmmmm.
*looks at belly*

I'm glad you're feeling better though dude, if your eating at all now then you'll probably be pretty quick to get back to normal.

Reading online I've actually been quite lucky so far, the pain hasn't been that bad and i've been able to survive the day without relying too much on painkillers. :)

The main issue has been lack of sleep, which just compounds any little problem.

Got a fancy dress party on Saturday. The items I've ordered have been dispatched, with an estimated delivery date of Thursday - Monday... It's all arriving Monday, isn't it. Fucksake, why can I never be more prepared! Although, I'd have thought that a week was adequate time for delivery.

The railway system is madness at times. Because I am now very important and busy I have to go to places by train to do stuff. An open return from Leeds to B'ham new street is £116. If I split the journey into 3 returns (Leeds to Sheffield, Sheffield to Derby and Derby to B'ham) it's £52. Amusingly, I have to change seats three times on the same train, but that's the way it is I suppose.

If all else fails, paint yourself red and say you've been told you're the devil ;)
