Lego Movie very good indeed.

The clever thing about The Lego Movie is that it is a movie about Lego.

Too late. I don't think it was as bad as it's imdb score suggests but it was pretty bland stuff.

Yup. And it's superb. That helps, too.

Just watched the lego movie with my wife and youngest two kids.

It's fair to say we all enjoyed it!

I had been planning on going to see The Lego Movie with the boys yesterday but had to work instead. And today we had to go to Yatton of all lalces for a chuffing christening.

I've watched all of the trailers and clips like a million times now.

We've just missed the last showing of the day for the Lego movie at the odeon, so I thought I would check the crappy cineworld instead.

£12 each! Fuck that.

And I thought £36 for a family (of 4) ticket was expensive!

Actually, thinking about it, adult tickets are £11.70 at the Vue in Plymouth, so only a bit cheaper than Trooper almost paid.

Nebraska - I loved it. Probably the best movie i've seen since Gravity. A simple story elevated to greatness by memorable acting and cinematography

Ender's Game - The premise sounded interesting, but the movie explored it through the dullest and most insipid way possible. Just mediocre

Bronson - I'm starting to love Refn's movies. This one i won't forget so soon. Violent, nihilist and quite hilarious.

I watched Wolf of Wall Street last night. I loved it.

It could have been shorter, but I suppose it had to be that long because if it were shorter it would officially be classed as a porn movie.

We watched The Hunt last night. It stars Mads Mickelsen (Hannibal in the TV show and the baddie in Casino Royale) as a nursery school teacher falsely accused of being a paedophile. Not sure that it really has much to say about this most difficult of subjects but it's just a cracking good drama, completely believable.

I also watched that one week ago or such. Don't know why i didn't mentioned it since it was excellent.

Guardians of the Galaxy trailer

Saw The Monuments Men last night and enjoyed it. Not a classic but a solid 7/10 film for me.

Guardians of the Galaxy looks pleasingly bonkers.

If the Guardians of the Galaxy film is even a patch on the current comics run it'll be fucking amazing. A cameo from Robert Downey Jr where they make Iron Man look like a bumbling technophobe would be immense.

Interesting note: the green skinned Gamora from the Guardians is the adoptive daughter of Thanos, the baddie revealed to be behind the events of the Avengers movie during the post-credits scene.

I had never heard of the comics, so I may need to go out and get some now!

Also, I've only just noticed that Karen Gillan, Benicio del Toro, John C. Reilly and Glenn Close are in it. Bloody hell.

It is going to be epic.

And Dave Bautista. The acting legend.

I'd much prefer a Great Lakes Avengers film, tbh. Although GotG looks fun enough.

It's a weird choice for a film, as it really isn't very well known at all outside comic fans. It's supposed to be a great comic series though.

It's probably just because the characters and setting offer a chance to do a pretty much stand-alone story. They can do some ridiculous space romp with the guardians and leave the continuity alone for the other films.

Except that at least one of them appeared at the end of Iron Man 3, so it will be linked.

I saw HER yesterday. It's the sort of film that brings out all those introspective and self absorbed thoughts in you. It's kind of emotional and not at the same time. It's very good though.

Cloudy with A Chance of Meatballs 2 was disappointing

The wife took her, but they went to see it twice, so they must have liked it a bit. Though Onnie just calls it The Steve Movie, and doesn't really care about any of the other characters.

Fast and Furious 6 - mildly entertaining nonsense.

I don't know if I've gone on about this before but just in case - all the odd f&fs are very good and all the even ones are very very bad. With the possible exception of 5 which was a bit bad.
