A bit early but lets get this set for next year .... how much do you think your going to spend in 2014

Are you going to enter the next generation with a PS4 / Xbox One or a Wii-u ?

Will you buy the best gaming console of last year ? (the 3DS)

Are there big games your going to grab on day 1 - or are you going to wait for the magic £20 mark ?

Post your estimate here and try and keep track of just how much money your throwing away when instead you could be outside !

2011 thread : viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6653
2012 thread : viewtopic.php?f=3&t=8199
2013 thread : viewtopic.php?f=3&t=9209

Post your prices inside <> symbols and Grim...'s magic tracker will total everything up for you : http://www.beexcellenttoeachother.com/c ... sh2014.php

You can also put negative values in if you've sold items back

I spend most of my money on iTunes, but I get given vouchers, so I've never counted that towards the total.

Last year (well, tail end of 2012 actually) I was given £50 itunes credit, of which I still have about £35 remaining.

This year for Christmas we received another £50~ between us.

Sadly when you gift an app it appears to take it off the card attached to your account, rather than from your credit, which is massively shit.

I have never really counted itunes stuff in here (I have about £30 on my account that i'll probably use up over the next year) , and I also found it hard when I had credit in Microsoft moon points to try and track stuff (but then I just tracked when i bought cards)

If there are things you are not going to track or they are hard to then its probably easiest to just ignore them and concentrate on the things you can track

I would track it if it was my money I was spending, but it's vouchers, so it doesn't count. I was 'first-world-problemming' the fact that I have so much credit on my account that I can't track anything in here.

I have the same problem, I have around £45 in my Apple account now, after the vouchers from this christmas topped up what was left from the vouchers from last christmas. That's the problem with mobile gaming being too cheap :D

However, this year we also racked up £75 in Amazon vouchers, those are much more useful!

If you logged when you bought the moon point cards then you're done, why would you also need to track when you spent the resulting points? You'd be double accounting if you did that.

I am guessing at 500ish, as when the 360 dies I will need a new DVD player, which is the perfect excuse to buy a new console.

Don't forget £8 on a hammer to encourage the 360 to die.

I'm going to try this for the first time and see if I scare myself! I went for $600 to $800 as I expect to buy a PS4 but will probably just leach off PSN and watch netflix on it. I might splurge a little bit on some PC gubbins but will save the mega-splurge on a games machine for a couple of years from now.

I'm almost certainly going to buy a PS4 this year sometime, and I'll assume a PSN+ sub, which brings us up to about £400. Assume some money spent on PS4 games over and above the PS+ sub and I'll likely pick up some cheap PC and Android games throughout the year. That amount might end up being very similar to what I spent last year which was apparently £214.83 so I'm going to estimate £650 altogether.

I'm probably going to be round the 4-500 quid mark as there's no major hardware purchases planned, though I may get a Vita for remote play.
I suspect I'll buy the next iPad when it's out but as that's not primarily for games I don't think it's fair to include it in the total.

I do confidently predict I'll fail to update my spending on here though.

Spent way too much last year. No plan to purchase any new consoles so it will be games only this year. Hopefully around £250

Yeah, if you hold Alt then hit 01 it'll go back when you release Alt. Very odd.

Oh yeah, that's a board keyboard shortcut (it'll take you to the first unread post if you press it on the main forum and then back to the main forum again).

I forgot about that, sorry.

Off the starting blocks! <0.74> on The Pretentious Game for Android. It's a weird little thing that uses a love story to suggest the platforming ability you need to use to 'solve' each room. It's exactly as pretentious as the name suggests and incredibly short but I'm amused and charmed by it. The first level is free on the Android version and you can also play that first level via your browser here if anyone wants to try it.

That was quite cute wasn't it? The iPhone version is free but then you have to download other chapters which are strangely listed in dollars.

<£3.74> or something daft for Torchlight 2.

Not bad, nice and frugal...

<£637.00> on PS4 3 games, PS+ 1 year membership and now a new TV.

Erm. yeah.

Luckily I have a new credit card with lots of 0% offers.

Price ?

It was £1 in my local tesco for the Xbox version and the conflict between the cheapskate me who thinks I could play it and see just how bad it is and still get more than a quid for it - and the realistic me who thought its not even worth that lasted while i walked round the rest of the store - however I did not grab it and the next time i went in it was gone :-)
