I'd gone off AC games a bit but I've fallen into playing everything that's out on PS4 and in this case I'm really glad I did.
Really, really enjoying it so far. The ship combat is tons of fun, even enjoying the collect-em-up townie bits.

The only Assassins Creed game I'd played before this one was the first one, which I finished but never felt compelled to play any others. The PS4 version of AC4 was bought for me for Christmas however, and I've literally been playing it to death ever since. It's one of the most fun games I've played ever, I think. The ship combat/pirate-y goodness of it is just amazing. I've even got the companion app on my phone now so I can keep up with the Kenway's Fleet minigame when I can't play the main game - although I've also taken to dragging my Vita around with me everywhere too to minimise how much time I do have to stay away from it.
It's an awesome game, basically. It's Assassins Creed mixed nicely with Sid Meier's Pirates!. My brother tells me that Ubisoft have been sending surveys out to registered customers asking them if they'd like a pure pirates game without the AC gumpf at some point, which could potentially be amazing if it were to happen.

Yeah, I've only just set out really, but boarding ships and stuff is amazing fun.
