Did anyone watch the London fireworks on BBC1 (or in person, I guess)?

Fuck me!

Not this year, but we did last year, and it was just about TV White-out for some of it. They were amazing.

Happy new year, all. We went to bed at about 10pm as I'm still having problems breathing, so it would have been too tiring to stay up I think, but it's nice to wake up to the blank page of a new year. Hopefully good things will happen in this one, and less of the sad.

Yup, on the telly but I'd like to see them in person one year.

Did they have banana flavoured snow in the end?

As usual, I was asleep well before midnight last night. And I wake up and it's Storm Central outside. As in the bad, wet, fence-destroyingly-windy sort. I suspect it's not much better in the rest of the UK. Let's just hope that today's the worst weather day of the new year, eh comrades?

I wouldn't recommend that - we tried one year and the crowds were terrifying.

I know someone who paid a £silly for a private boat trip to see them, they gave you dinner and champagne and you were on the boat from like, 8pm so that'd be pretty cool I guess.

Happy New Year everyone, I hope 2014 is excellent for everyone :)

Yup, me and Mrs W had a quiet night in, as we usually do on NYE and ended up watching Gary Barlow's NYE thing, which was OK if you like that kind of thing. Then we saw the fireworks. Very good indeed, although Mrs W thought they went on for a bit too long; then again, she's not a big firework fan. I guess that if I'd stood outside for yonks waiting for it, I'd have been disappointed with less than 10 mins.

Then we switched over to Beeb2 and heard Ray Davies murdering 'Lola' on Jules Holland's Hootenanny. I don't dislike Ray, and Lola is of one Mrs W's favourite singles of all time, but unfortunately Ray can no longer sing it in tune ..... or maybe was just out of his tree last night.

P.S. Happy New Year, you Beexers.

We really enjoyed lola, and the other song he did about fat girls going on a no carb diet.

An extra uncle? How do we get one of those?!

Did he sleep in the spare oom? Hahahaha!

(I'm almost certain this joke works in Dutch, but I can't remember where you're from. If you are Dutch, I'm assuming I've hit comedy gold right now, right? Romanista, back me up here!!)
