<2.20> on Ittle Dew for Android (also available for Mac, Windows and iOS). It's a gorgeous looking self-described "puzzle adventure" game which parodies some of the classic Zelda tropes and rips off it's visual design to a degree. From reading reviews the core of the game is very much about the Sokoban style block-pushing puzzles that the older Zelda games used heavily in the dungeons so I'm slightly concerned it'll get boring; but by all accounts it's much more than the sum of it's parts and has Metroidvania style elements so hopefully that'll keep it interesting.

Do I include my new TV in this I wonder. It is neither a game, nor a console, but it is only used for playing games on.

Ok I am done for the year then final total is £1,976.46
It seems like a lot but bear in mind I don't keep my games once completed I sell them on to fund more purchases.

With the PS4 already purchased hopefully next year will be a lot less.

I voted for between £600-£800, and actually spent £789.05. Not too bad being as that includes a new console.

Looking through my splurge I made quite a few high value purchases
£104 Borderlands 2 Loot Chest (Waste of money)
£100 3DS for the kid & yes he still plays it
£125 WiiU (finished Lego City & then sold it on)
PS Vita £165 (Waste of money I hardly play it)
PS4 & AC4 £473.99 - Since this I have not gone back to the 360 or the PS3 ( I suspect I will be getting rid of the PS3 next year, 360 I'll keep until my live sub expires & for GTAV)

I didn't do too badly; my guess was £100-£200 and my current total is £208.39. I might spend a little bit more on Android games before the year's out but obviously we're talking a couple of quid at most there.

My total should be accurate in as much as whenever I got rid of games I'd played I'd either straight swap them and add the swap cost to the thread or trade them in against my Game card thing and then use that balance to buy later games. In the latter scenario I'd add the final cost to the thread of whatever I paid minus the saved balance on the card so it was a completely closed economy for me.

Next year is very likely to be a higher cost because of probably buying a PS4. Also as there won't be as mature a second hand market for the PS4 I might need to spend more on individual games than I've done for the last year. On the other hand, I might go for PSN+ once I've moved over to the PS4 and that'll change how I 'buy' games significantly so it's hard to know what effect that'll have. Hmm...

PS+ is a must there is no harm in buying it now & setting yourself up an account because you can just add the PS4 given away every month to your account & when you come to buy the console you don't need to buy any games because you will have lots waiting. With the PS4 I am only going to be buying one retail game at a time currently I have the bundled Killzone & AC4 once I have completed AC4 & Killzone I will sell both & probably buy Battlefield 4 to keep & wait till Watch_Dogs is released or Thief next year.

I said £800-£1000 and, according to my spreadsheet, I've spent £1016.28.

isn't that a lot of money? Wow... But I like it collecting games.

That's true in itself, but PSN+ isn't really any use to me right now and I just can't get with the idea of paying for a service now to only make use of it at <indeterminate date in 2014>. Whether it would actually save me money in the long run depends on so many factors (when I actually feel like picking up a PS4, what games I want, how much those games can be picked up for, what games have been on PSN+ by that time, etc) that I can't really justify it.

I think some people stick some figures in negative in this thread when they sell stuff to keep a true expenditure total.

Yeah, I really like the sound of it. It's the kind of thing that makes me wish I had a PC hooked up to the TV in the living room as I think Mrs B would really like it. Obviously I could shift my desktop in there but I don't care enough for the hassle it seems.

Also: it would let me play other stuff 'properly' that I picked up cheap on the PC like Walking Dead and Papo & Yo. Hmmm.

That's what I did. Connected my MBP to the TV and used a 360 pad.
