It's been available to play on the PC for quite some time - great if you like a bit of flying and shooting but what I'm really looking forward to is the 'Ground Forces' addition (going into closed Beta in a few weeks on the PC but it's also due out on the PS4 some time) which allows you to control tanks (I'm a big fan of World of Tanks on the PC).

Ground Forces tanks will be able to exist in the same battlefield as the planes and it will be possible to have battles that involve planes or just Tanks Vs Tanks battles.

I'm trying to come up with a clever Blitzkrieg / War Thunder joke but am failing.

That looks pretty cool. Pacific and European stuff ( although I didn't stop any Soviet bits in there )!

It looks great, however any multiplayer plane-em-up i've ever played has just ended in endless circling...

It tends to not happen so much with more players. I played quite a bit of Birds Of Steel online and had some great dogfights, they tended to be over quite quick though before either getting a kill or getting killed or just losing each other and moving on to the next target.

I love the name of this game! WAR THUNDER! It is like something out of Machete.

Well, it looks nice, but it is utterly impossible to control with an xbox pad, even on the basic arcade control setting :(

This game is lovely on the PS4, once I'd got the controls set right. It defaults to a really horrible arcadey control scheme. So nice to have the head tracking too. I've not really begun the game proper yet, just been doing some test flights, marvelling at things and shooting a truck. Here's a video which will look much better if you watch it in HD

Was that played with a PC flightstick? Guess you wouldn't easily be able to look about like that with a standard PS4 pad.

No, just the pad. You just move your head slightly and the camera sees it and looks around, it's amazing.

Unless it uses the motion controlled gyroscopical analogue detecting trackpad lasers on the dualshock.
