Me and Lord Rixondale are half way through co-op.

We are having such fun we are considering slicing our brains in half and meshing together the hemispheres. FOR SCIENCE.

I was a bit disappointed that the DLC for this had no real single player content (sticking a timer on each SP level doesn't really count) although, to be fair to them, I had wondered how they'd slot SP content in without buggering up the story they've already finished telling in the main campaign. I really should get round to playing the new co-op levels, although that would involve buying a new PS3 controller and goading Mrs Bamba into getting comfortable with the controls again. I actually played the majority of the original co-op levels myself by jusy swapping between the two pads as required. Obviously you're not going to win any speed awards that way but it's surprising how many of the levels can be knocked off relatively easily that way; I think there were only a few levels where simultaneous actions were genuinely required from both players.

To be fair, it's much easier than you'd think in about 90% of levels. It was pretty much by choice I played it like that as I'm the kind of terrible misanthrope idiot who'd rather do that than try and co-ordinate things with a real live human being. Well, I'm happy to do local co-op but trying to manage it online just seemed like a massive nightmare. Luckily Mrs. Bamba eventually overcame the motion sickness she felt when she initially tried it so we finished the last set of levels together if that cheers TheVision up at all.

Played through this over the last few days. Was fair tickled by some of the puzzles, felt cheated by some of the others (barely visible tiles positioned fucking miles away >:( ) & was a bit disappointed that...

... the end battle was so easy this time around (1 continue!?!) although that portal to the moon was gid :)

Every cunt's dialogue was the highlight though, particularly when you stood around like a spare prick after they'd asked you to do something :DD

There was definitely one place I felt that (the point where you're making your way up inside a sort of tunnel-y thing) but mostly I felt it was pretty fair in that respect. Actually, there were a few times when I didn't realise that a bit of wall or whatever was actually portal-able, but it was usually staring me in the face rather than being hidden by being put really far away and I was just being a tit. And you only needed to learn that lesson once and you always spotted the same material whenever it was used again.

It was certainly easier than the boss fight in the original game but I don't think Portal works all that well if you place time pressure on it so I was pretty glad it wasn't harder than that. I think they really just put it in to give the game an actual climax rather than to pose any real challenge. Also, to give them a reason to use the other cores that they'd designed and written dialogue for. Apparently the initial intent was to have each of the difference personality cores accompany you through a bit of the game but they dropped that idea at some point during the development.

Probably my favourite game ever though and the only one in recent years I've played through multiple times.

@Bamba: There were a fair number of times that I felt a bit of a tit anaw, but that's half the fun of it :metul:

@Zaphod: Aye, I'll play through it on co-op at some point. Will need to be on the typewriter though* so that will cut the number of potential jogadors by a fair bit :(
*The eggbox is offski!

I started replaying this around 3 years ago and inexplicably stopped, so I'm finishing it now. I'd forgotten how funny it is (and pretty much all the puzzles too). I'm currently at the part where he kills us (this is that part).

I have this in my Steam library and completed the single achievement I have for it in May 2011, according to my Steam stats.

1.2 hours played and I have never returned to it for no apparent reason whatsoever.

I will rectify this once I have finished my DOOM playthrough.

Old games are better than new games, fuck all this live service 'do something everyday' shit.
