Ah, noisy neighbours. I know it's wrong, but I kinda can't help looking at this from the other side of the fence...

... When I was young(er), and a bachelor, I occasionally used to wheel out my Jambo D-260 loudspeakers into the back garden of our "lads pad" shared house full of grungers/hippies and we'd party on until 4am or so, having mysteriously attained unfeasibly high energy levels at such an hour. The people living around us formed a "committee" against us, albeit funnily enough our nearest neighbour, who was a vicar (and might reasonably have been expected to have been our worst nemesis and detractor) was actually a super-sound geezer. After one particularly bad News Years Eve - after much booze, 4am fireworks (display sized, including mortars as well as 3,000 bangers going off at once), Iron Maiden and various other stuff that I won't go into, his remarks to my barely-alive self at 4pm the following day, as I staggered out for my first fag of the day, was "my word [Cavey], I really did think it was the Second Coming last night"

More recently, when I'd been with Mrs C for a year or so (and was thus at least half house trained), we'd bought our first house together. As we were *still moving in* and hadn't even so much as switched a kettle on yet (let alone our stereo), our new neighbour barely introduced himself, but was already stepping into my lounge, brandishing a bottle of Tipp-ex, apparently so that he could mark on the unit's volume control the loudest setting he could allow us... instant red card I'm afraid. I told him 'to go pork himself' IIRC.

Now I live on a farm miles from anyone and it wasn't accidental.

Honestly mate. I hadn't even unloaded the first Transit van load and had never met the guy; apparently he bullied the last resident into barely being able to turn her TV on. Tosser.

He lasted about 6 weeks before moving out and letting his house out.

Oh, I know mate, but that's what can happen if bullies are allowed to get away with stuff like this for however many years. The guy was a *total* dweeb as well, but no-one ever stood up to him.

I haven't the faintest idea who this footballer is, or why he's appeared here.

Apparently he's famous for people singing "who ate all the pies" at him. (lol)
No idea who that's supposed to refer to, if anyone, but am not arsed either way. Put up or shut up I always say.

Things I have learned today:

Clapham Junction should be officially renamed MILF Junction.

I now apparently live across the road from Gordon Ramsey. Our front room has no blinds. If you go to one of his restaurants and see on the menu 'Last Chicken in the Shop with a Pickled Frankfurter', you'll know where he got the inspiration.

Every time that I take the Boy to nursery, and hence arrive at Canary Wharf via Jubilee line and not the DLR, I come up the wide bank of escalators and think, "Why haven't TFL turned the bits between the escalators into slides yet?"

Real missed opportunity that.

They put those little barriers in place every few meters too. It's almost as if they don't want people sliding down the middle.
They do leave a 6 inch gap on each side though, how wide is a pair of skis?

It would be quite amusing to go to some QC's Chambers and say 'Pfft, call yourself a Barista? This coffee is fucking shite, pal!'
