I'm actually seriously contemplating going to the midnight launch at our local Game for this. I haven't pre-ordered, though. After GTA IV, I didn't initially feel too excited about this one, but the more I've read, the more it seems like the next-gen San Andreas I'd been hoping for.

Queue people remarking about me pleading poverty and wasting money on games, but this will be the third game I've bought all year, so fuck you.

I assume this passive-aggressive comment was directed at me. It's a big difference between buying a highly-anticipated £40 game and a £650 luxury smartphone, and you know it. But your defensiveness belies the fact it obviously hit a nerve.

Also, four:

The Last of Us
Killzone Mercenary
Papers, Please
Hotline Miami

;)

No sign of mine yet. On a car forum I use, some of them are talking about going to a midnight launch if the preordered copy doesn't arrive today which seems excessive to me.

I should've put a smiley on it - I was just having a joke. No WTB-style hysterics from here. You did rather have me bang to rights in that thread... I just had a sudden cash injection and a momentary lapse of reason (note to self: good name for a slightly bollocks new-age rock album there).

I'd also worryingly forgotten about Hotline Miami and Papers, Please. I'm never sure whether or not to be flattered or worried when someone else knows more about facets of my life than I appear to!

Did you get Papers, Please by the way? That was a terrific little game that was! I've seen around 6 or so of the 19 possible endings to it now.

You should certainly buy it when it's at it's most expensive even though it's useless to you; that's a sound plan.

In all fairness, I can't see this being £20 in a fortnight.

True, but if you can't play it for two weeks there's surely close to zero argument for picking it up on launch day?

Thank fuck for that. There are also reports of the controls being vaguely responsive, which will be nice.

While Eurogamer awarded it 10/10.

Oh yeah, I'm sure there is but I just found it funny that both scores were under the Eurogamer name.

Anyway, regardless of that it was obvious that GTA5 was a 9/10 game and like a lot of other people, I don't really listen to review scores anymore. I tend to rely on the forum or Twitter.

Surely it can't be 10/10. It doesn't have a dubstep gun.

No confirmation or denial of this in the one I read. (And I'm not going to spend ages reading reviews about a game that I'm only going to pick up at some point down the line)

Initial reports are showing that the 360 and PS3 versions are near enough identical.

I'll probably get it on the 360 I expect, due to the controller.

Install one disc, play on the other. Don't install the play disc apparently, as it can cause issues.

Installing the play disc causes popup because the game needs all the streaming bandwidth it can get (it splits bandwidth between HDD and DVD). Workaround: install the second disc to a USB drive instead. Works like a charm, apparently.
