Is this a pipe dream for mentalists?

I keep toying with the idea of having a coding app on my ipad (mini) that can also upload the files to my FTP server, but all the apps out there such as Koder or Textastic look much of a muchness.

Has anyone ever tried coding using an iThing, and if so, any preferred apps?

Yes.

Just using a laptop for coding drives me mad, what with the low resolution. A tablet.... The very idea makes me want to hurt things.

In his QuakeCon keynote talk, John Carmack mentioned that he uses his iPad to practice his Lisp programming when he has time to kill away from his office (because he always has his iPad with him).

I think he said that the environment he used was called "Lispy" or something similar.

(edit) Actually, I think it's Lisping, from Slide to Code.

Lisp is fine on the iPad, because you only need to type (, ), [ and ]. You can hide the rest of the keyboard.
