Blimey, most of it is reasonable, then it starts to get a bit nuts. I can't tell someone to man up? I'm not allowed to call a disabled person handicapped. Really?

I'd ban it more for being a shit phrase than offensive. ;)

I get the feeling 'handicapped' is to 'disabled' as 'coloured' is to 'black'; not used offensively, but not acceptable either.

It's gone a bit that way but it still gets used. Unlike "spastic" which was once a perfecty normal everyday term and now is the total opposite.

Hell yeah! We sold him and bought Benteke, Vlaar, Lowton and Westwood with the money!

There was a couple of VERY hot barmaids in the pub last night so I drank lots of beer so I could keep talking to them. The beer was Old Empire at 5.7% so I feel a bit delicate this morning. Had a super fun time, with friends though, which is good. I'm off to a naming ceremony later, and then MOAR BEERS before returning home to continue fixing stuff like a man.

Maiden England 2013. Utterly incredible show. For a group of old rockers they certainly know how to put on a gig. I have no voice and I can't hear a damned thing.

Outrun in a browser ?

http://reassembler.blogspot.co.uk/

They have made it so it doesnt just work with any outrun rom you find on the net by 'mistakenly' having it call for a rom name from the Outrun A set but if you open the outrun roms zip file and rename "epr-10381b.132" to "epr-10381a.132" then it works fine

copy of rom attached if you want to try it

Watched the Knightmare remake this morning.

The start was awful as there was some hacked on story about why it was now 20 years later.

The rest was great though, with the pacing just right.

I quite liked the intro actually. Awful as it was. Knightmare was always at least a little bit about being awful.

You know when your favourite 8 bit game had been quickly ported to the ST and it looked and felt all wrong. That!

Looked like it was made in a awful hurry and Treguard is phoning it in. Fun but it has its limitations.

Interesting, in an interview Hugo Myatt has said he dialled the performence of Treguard back a couple of notches as they felt it would look hammy playing up to adults the same way he did with the kids. Personally I think him being OTT was half the fun.

Remember Wagner from that X Factor?

Well, he's running a windows and conservatories business now and he's doing some adverts in the local papers round here.

That's as exciting as today is going to get I fear....

Oof, Tile looks clever - little bluetooth-enabled tags that you put on or in things. Any time a iOS phone with the Tile app "sees" a tile, it will let the central DB know, so if you lose something, anyone else with the Tile app will help you to look.

You can also make the tile beep. Batteries last for a year, apparently.

I saw those.

a) They are fucking expensive.
b) the range is very limited, so it will only work if a huge amount of people have the app.
c) nobody will have the app due to a)

Yeah we had a look at those at work. Whilst it's quite a neat idea ("everyone's" phone acting as a finding tool for your item) It suffers badly from chicken-and-egg syndrome, and will never catch on.

And as you say, the basic functionality (finding the item within bluetooth range) just isn't worth the price they're asking.

I can see niche uses working well - say shared equipment where the people sharing the tagged thing all use the app, that'd be nice.

If, say, Apple chose to do it, and built it in as standard to every iPhone and Mac, then you've got something interesting.
