WE HAVE ENTERED THE NORTH.

So insanely excited. Might be the orangina haribo. Might be the smell of the still warm "mystery" item I'm very proud to have made. Might just be EXCITEMENT.

Yay.

London-centric; we have been past several signs that just say "The NORTH"

We are in the Bedford Tesco. There are only a few bags of ice left which will no doubt be bought by the time the next person arrives.

Plan to visit another supermarket if you had ice on your spinner or cross your fingers they're getting a delivery today.

We've just been in and bought 3 of 5 bags. They were quickly replaced with another 3, maybe they are just trying to stop people from bulk buying or something.

May well stop and repeat breakfast at every service station between here and home, and then just about feel human again.

Ok, so barbeque: Cloudy.
Trip home: Blazing sunlight, stuck going a maximum of 10 mph (usually 0) in an rather too hot car, in rather desperate want of a drink.

Silly weather.
Home now though.

Another cracking evening, cheers Grim... and MrsGrim..., and to the chefs for their sterling work! ;)

I'm disappointed that Bobby slept on the trampoline *in a sleeping bag* - I figured he'd just collapsed drunkenly on to it and curled up.

Although getting into a sleeping bag means it was a conscious decision to sleep there, which is arguably better.

Whoop! Back home now. Moment I got back I had to go straight out again to photograph a friend's storytelling carnival project, so have only just finally kicked back on the sofa. Anyway...

You're all amazing! Had great fun, all we lacked was ghost stories to tell around the (hilariously dangerous) campfire. Great seeing y'all again in your various configurations. Now for some props dispensation:

Props to Scott, for driving me up there and back. I owe you, man - and your driving is like, crazy smooth, even though you can't spot a service station turning to save your life. Yocks.

Props to Doc Gaywood for bringing some seriously delicious ribs to the party. Succulent success!

Props to whoever did the peppered steak. Melt in the mouth yum. So tender and moist!

MASSIVE props to Mrs Grim... for her eternal good humoured patience. I haven't forgotten about that five-year old kids book reading list Mrs Grim, and shall let you know!

Obviously props to Grim. Primarily for handing Black Dynamite back. Hurr. But also for such fantastic Greek hospitality.

And props to all of you for your patience in letting me run around papping everyone repeatedly. For hours. Pics to appear tomorrow aft at the latest!

Fantastic time again. Thanks to the Grim...s for their hospitality, and Gaywood and Craster for spending so much time prepping their meat before popping it in my mouth.
As always thanks to everyone else for making it what it is, and thank you new home for being a good hour closer to Grim...s house.

Now I'm going to try and scrub the smell of fire off me and collapse.
