Ipswich has at least 2 markets, selling bread and fish and veg, etc. Felixstowe has "The Market" which is every Sunday, they sell loads of cheap sup-JML tat.

In fact most towns and cities in East Anglia have markets. I've certainly been to quite a few in Suffolk, and a couple in Norfolk.

I never even liked them much, and even I'm excited about being able to buy one. That's a very decent bit of marketing is that.

Do markets still exist? I've not seen one in many, many years.

They have them everywhere even semi-rural, surely. We even had a door-to-door egg salesman once in industrial shithole Hayes (or "Ish" to its friends*).

I live proper rural and we don't have markets that I know about.

Really? We have an awesomes farmers' market every friday and saturday. Locally made wine, even, as well as the usual meat, bread, veg etc. Toppo, fun, and cheap.

Everywhere should have farmers' markets - the government should be pushing their expansion rather than allowing shit loads more Tesco Expresseseses.

We have farmers market and stuff. I could buy all kinds of olives, or ostrich burgers or alligator chops or something, but I can't buy giant soft pretzels. Not that a once a month farmer's market is going to keep me in tasty nom much.

Blimey - it sounds like it was ended by a plane carrying some honeymooners crashing into it. Well, if you gotta go, go in style.

I just noticed that we didn't have sewers until 1933.

Google Maps suggests it's 15 miles, and it's a lot closer as the crow flies. That's surely not actually that far? I travel further to work each day.

Looking at Google maps... blimey, it's damned green where you are.

People in my area of Kent don't go west or east. We only go north and south. Because the roads that go west and east don't really deserve the name.

If you'd only gone south-west a bit, you'd have found one fuck of a car park.

I used to bite them till the bottom started to split then stop, at which point the split would close, and trap my lip slightly. I would then eat the chocolate like a normal human being. I HAD to do this when eating one, for no discernable reason other than I just had to. I miss them, but feel slightly less of a nutjob now I don't have to do that anymore.

That's interesting. Does anyone know what this is? It's clearly a repurposed airfield; I'm guessing it's storage for newly built cars awaiting delivery. There's a big one of those at Avonmouth too.

I'd quite happily mash my face into a pile of thorntons in preference to most other chocolate you can readily buy. Cappucino flavour? mmmmmm.

There's the arguement that if you have to flavour chocolate, what you have is bad chocolate.
