Wikipedia list of Snes games
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_snes_gamesOnes I remember as being quite good
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ActRaiser - mixture of Populous and Final Fight
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Axelay - great shoot em up with an amazing lava background for the 2nd? stage
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batman_Ret ... eo_game%29 - Final fight clone with Batman as the main character
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captain_Commando - Capcom arcade conversion
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contra_III:_The_Alien_Wars - Excellent upgrade to the original contra (UK version is Probotector and has robots instead of soldiers)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disney%27s ... video_game) - Different to the Genesis version (came out much later)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donkey_Kong_Country - These had some really next gen graphics at the time but I'm not much of a fan now
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equinox_(1993_video_game) - Isometric adventure game
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F-Zero_(video_game) - The game to show off what Mode 7 is and how it works - amazingly impressive at the time but the first one doesnt really hold up that well now
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Fight_3 - All the Final Fight games are reasonable but I really liked the 3rd one best (The first one is a 'split' game with Final Fight which only gives you Cody and Hagar and then they released Final Fight Guy which was the exact same but gave you Guy and Hagar
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Firemen - original idea for a game , with you as a fireman putting out blazes inside a large building
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_SWIV - Its Swiv - not really that great but if you want to see what those Amiga conversions look like then this or one of the Desert strikes would be my choice
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flashback_(1992_video_game) - SNES version has really nice graphics but i'd already played both it and Another World on the Amiga
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghoul_Patrol - Follow up to Zombies Ate My Neighbours but not really that much better
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Legend ... ical_Ninja - A really good multiplayer arcade adventure type game with 2 ninja guys who can enter massive robots which look exactly the same as them (there are a number of follow ups which i think are Japanese only but you dont really need to be able to read the text)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Legend ... o_the_Past - The first Zelda game I ever played and one of the reasons I recently bought a 3DS (since the follow up was announced earlier this year)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lethal_Enforcers - if you can find a copy with the guns its a very good arcade conversion (again i'm sure there is a follow up available as well - probably a slightly different name)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disney%27s ... ckey_Mouse - Not as good as the Genesis one but nicer graphics
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mega_Man_X_(video_game) - There are a number of Mega Man games on there - I thought X was okay but I found the original NES ones to be much more fun
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mortal_Kombat_II - I'd skip MKI which is slow and does not have blood but II was a great conversion on the SNES
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NBA_Jam - Another great Midway arcade conversion
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ogre_Battl ... lack_Queen - Turn based strategy game
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parodius:_ ... se_Fantasy - There are a number of Pariodis versions on the SNES - they are all pretty well put together
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phalanx_%28video_game%29 - Great original shoot em up
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pilotwings - Really well thought out 'flight sim' which I loved at the time (although its probably very dated now)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pocky_%26_Rocky - or the follow up - great little arcade style games with a lot of humor
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prince_of_ ... _the_Flame - really well put together follow up to the original POP , which looked great on the SNES
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secret_of_Mana - or the follow up (Secret of Evermore) - Zelda style adventure game but allowed 3 people to play at once (with a multitap)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sparkster - follow up to the Genesis version - not bad but again I think I preferred the Genesis (Rocket Knight Adventures)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spindizzy_Worlds - I found the controls to be far too fiddly on this for me but I know you liked Spindizzy
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Street_Fig ... r_Fighting - for SF2 stuff i'd go for Turbo which had a really solid conversion on the SNES and you can use the Capcom code to bump up the speed , there are good versions of the new challengers and SF Alpha but those tend to be more expensive and you can notice more the strain thats being put on the system
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunset_Riders - Another solid arcade conversion
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Bomberman_3 - or any other Super Bomberman and a Multi-tap they are all great
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Castlevania_IV - Although pretty much a launch title i much preferred this to Dracula X
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chase_H.Q. - *not* a conversion of the standard arcade game but its own thing which i remember being really hard but I've not played it in a long time
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Ghouls%27n_Ghosts - An arcade conversion that actually makes a really hard game even harder ! (although I love G'n'G)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Mario_All-Stars - Or pick up the one with Mario world as well
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Mario_Kart - great arcade racer
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Mari ... even_Stars - one of the last big SNES games - evolved into the Mario & Luigi RPG's which you can get now for the DS but if you want to see where that all starts then get this
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Mari ... 27s_Island - Some people loved this , I thought it was okay but that was just because SMW was such a great game I dont think anything else could have lived up to it
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Metroid - Another classic Nintendo franchise and a great game
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Punch-Out!! - really good upgrade to the old arcade game
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Star_Wars + ESB and ROTJ are all good but very hard arcade platformers - at the time the music and graphics were unlike anything else - they have not aged very well though :-(
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teenage_Mu ... es_in_Time - follow up to the turtles arcade game - the fighter released around the same time is not a bad SF2 ripoff
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.N._Squadron - another arcade 'follow up' (to Area88?) which works really well and adds an overmap to the game allowing you to choose the order to tackle the battles
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uniracers - Weird quirky little 2 player racer thats great fun
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zombies_Ate_My_Neighbors - 2 player smash tv like game with zombies and various power ups
Cannon Fodder is on there but not really that playable with the joypad (and I dont think it had mouse support)
The Snes also had some really good Japanese RPG's - I dont think your a fan of those but heres a list of those that I really liked
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breath_of_Fire_(video_game)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrono_Triggerhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EarthBoundhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Fantasy_IVhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Fantasy_VIhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Fantasy_Mystic_QuestOh and remember you can 'try' any of these things with an emulator before you go and pay money for real carts - oh and on your actual SNES you will probably want to look at PAL / NTSC versions as some games were not optimised very well so you'll find the PAL version will run 17% slower than the NTSC one
