It's really pleasing I own an album that samples the Star Wars Holiday Special

Turns out they let her sit for another hour. And she was sleeping. And didn't get her stuff back for ages. sore throat unfortunately, but it seems to have gone ok and now she's on a two week sicknote. significant head out of window moment less than a minute from home because we got stuck at a junction while some twat in an x5 couldn't figure out how to cross into the side street. When at least 4 people eventually got sick of her and managed to get out. Fuming.

Exactly who I thought it was, but apparently it is Robbie Williams. It's the image above his concert, someone I know has uploaded it to Flickr and I couldn't work out what the Ross Kemp mural was about...

I'd have to say Ross Kemp more than Robbie, unless he's really let himself go.

Is Robbie even relevant anymore? You might as well fling dog faeces at a wall and say it looks like John Kettley.

By that logic you may as well ask if Picasso is still relevant just cos he hasn't done anything of note recently.

I've been invited to my works "real awards" night in October. It's a glamorous awards evening where they highlight key members of staff, hand out free drinks and have entertainment and food laid on.

I'm not going.

They've posted out a super thick, glossy personalised invitation to every single member of staff and they've included a stamped addressed envelope to return it... Through the post... Even though I go there every day.

Madness.

Robbie is possibly the best live performer I have ever seen. Cathedrals of self belief arranged around a high altar of talent. He is simply amazing live.

When I was in Malaysia, they had a very very serious awards ceremony at the hotel I was staying at, for a local jewelry company called something like "Big Time Jumbo Diamond Jewelry Co" or some such. There was karaoke, alcohol, karaoke, big shiny awards (for something like "most hard working in Johor for selling the big shiny" or something) for which the recipients were effusively grateful and gave long acceptance speeches, karaoke, crying, more awards, karaoke, and then a big group hug. And then topped off with karaoke.

So, you know, could be worse.

My workplace often hand out letters and then email you two copies of the information before mailing three copies home in separate envelopes before emailing and then writing to tell you that they've sent these to your house.

Then they'll send one final copy to your house in an A4 envelope, presumably for those who don't like folded things.

Your position on Robbie is clearly indefensible. You're totally gayzor for him; I can see that now. He let himself down when he gave Gary a reach around to get Take That tour money.

Exhibit A: "Let Me Entertain You". Fucking classic.

Your sub-adolescent gay smearage just shows how lacking you are in cultural imperatives.

Over Christmas, we were flicking through all 16 (count 'em) digital channels my parents have and stumbled across their concert. I was shocked by how much I enjoyed it. Really, they were awesome.

12 year old me was clearly so wrong about them.

No, I just have fantastic taste in music, across all genres and styles.

Plus, Robbie played at the same gig, and Take That were fundamentally better.

And Robbie is the lowest common denominator in the history of the world. He makes Big Brother look like the South Bank Show.

Take that seem like a pretty together nice bunch of blokes.

To bit just comes across as an arrogant and smug yet increasingly desperate once big star, who tries to pass deliberated swagger off as confidence.

I don't like him, because of the arrogance, but I find him increasingly embarrassing to see interviewed and on stage. The kind of uncomfortable I feel if someone puts on a program called something like 'Drunk, 21, and a grandad' or 'Benefit Scroungers Learn To Drive', or whatever horribleness passes for TV nowadays.
