We were encouraged at work to go over to the castle to watch a flag-raising ceremony for the military. Whilst I was impressed by the troop of buglers from the rifles and enjoyed overhearing the colour sergeant flirt with some of my colleagues whilst we waited to get going, I found myself spending the whole time wishing I was at Gettysburg. Probably not the right attitude.

Still, the High Sheriff of Oxfordshire was the best dressed - hard to pull off breeches and tricorn but he managed it.

Man, that worked really well, and apparently I was being funny that day.

I am, perhaps unsurprisingly, not so good at the typing today (1.3834 CPS average).

Wimps. That's the only reason 50% of the audience was paying attention

The only way to watch The Voice is on Sky+ or V+ after the event, fast forwarding to Holly's bits. Otherwise its a totally fucking dire show and the Beeb should be ashamed of themselves for commissioning it.

IMHO, of course.

The typing game doesn't work. Typing doesn't cause any text to appear in the box. Clicking on the text box causes you to be cheating.

The new girl that now sits next to me keeps waving her armpit in my face as she liberally applies roll-on deodorant as soon as she gets into the office. This is then repeated around lunchtime.

It's really bothering me :(

Sorry to hear that. Can you wear headphones to avoid the talking bit? It doesn't seem to be much fun where you are, Mimi.

Aye, I should do, but I keep forgetting to bring them. I'll set myself a reminder for tomorrow. Good call.

I am actually on a really good team. The other two girls are ace. I do like the new girl mostly, but these couple of weird things are freaking me out. I think she has a lack of boundaries and she keeps putting her hands all over me with no warning.

It's "playing nicely" in my book. In fact, nobody has had a swivel chair and gaffa tape staircase related injury in ages. Efficiency has improved as well.

That's two next week! I decided just to arrange it at my desk, rather than elave the office. Especially discussion of my notice period ("it's 30 days, but my contract exzpires on the 31st july, so available from then. I could probably try and organise something to shorten it.") as I figured it'd be a giggle to let people around here hear it. As I'm wanted to cover for a severely depelted team in August and beyond.

My idiotic namesake has registered an ebay account with my email address. Usually I just ignore the idiot and his travels aorund the internet, but I thought I'd best let ebay know about this one and get it switched off by them.

This is the response I got from the chat lady :D

"Rose Arch
Thanks for staying connected Neil. I have searched our database and confirmed that the email address <redacted> is registered on eBay. It seems from our investigation that your Email service Provider may have recycled this email address. To resolve this, you will need to report this matter to your email service provider so they can take appropriate action.

Rose Arch
Let me also share that sometimes, email service providers "recycle" an email address. For example, someone may have had this email address before you, then joined eBay, and then after a period of inactivity, your email service provider allowed you to choose the same email address."

I don't know why I bothered, what a ludicrous response.

I contact customer services first, and if and when they don't comply, and I continue to receive e-mails I can't unsubscribe from, I log in and change all their details so their name is "Idiot Mc Duckface" or something.

Already tried that, you need more info than the user id and email to reset a password on ebay. Things like pet names, phone numbers etc...

Apparently I have to call the security call centre, which I tried and was told there was a 25 minute queue.
I wouldn't bother, but he has left the email spam options ticked on the account, which I can't go in and turn off.

It's all a bit tricky.

I have filtered on the ebay username he created, that should do it.

Wasn't it that he uses '[email protected]' and the other guy uses '[email protected]'?

It's due to the way gmail works, if you register as [email protected] you also get [email protected]

Idiot uses [email protected], which I never use, so filtering that out is easy, however this time he used [email protected], which I do use very very occasionally (mainly for my domain account emails which I don't use a trooperlooper.co.uk email address for, for obvious reasons), plus I sometimes use it if I want to be official. CVs and the like.
