Be Excellent To Each Other

Myspace is about to be relaunched as it's now part owned by Justin Timberlake. I've been invited to the beta this morning and from what I've read in the "nerd press", people seem to like it.

There's absolutely no doubt that it won't make a dent in the strangle hold that the sinister Facebook has on social media, but it's nice to have an alternative. I used Myspace when it was big (about 5 years ago maybe?) and I liked it then. Let's see if I still like it now.

Yeah, I kind of forgot about Google+. I actually really like Google+ but no one seems to use it, ergo.. I forgot about it. Shame that...

Yeah, I really like it too, but same. I figure MySpace will probably go the same way.

I quite like the look of the new myspace, but i hardly use facebook, certainly not enough to make any sort of switch.

Facebook is possibly a bit too ingrained now. Very difficult to get people to switch back now.

Facebook said a couple of years back they saw room for another thing like it in the ecosystem.

I had a look at the front page. There were adverts for hair straighteners and loads of stuff about shit pop music. It seems they are targeting it towards a particular group, the sort of people who like having straight hair and listening to shit music.

It's no better than the rest, another confusing mess of a site like Facebook and, increasingly, Google+

I've got basic placeholder pages on these for Governmentyard but that's as much as I'll do with them. There's only one system that everyone is a member of and that's email. Alas, most people I used to talk to via email have abandoned it for Facebook.

Closer to ten, I reckon. at least 7.

On the beta. I'm going to stick with it for a bit, seeing as there's not too much to learn. Last time I logged into Google+ I deleted my account rather than relearn everything. Another fucking pukesplat of a website like Facebook now.
