Um.... Would you like it if I were?

I mean this telly program you're talking about - is it porn? There seem to be some unnaturally large bazongas involved.

I quite like it. Good cast. I will concede you'd get a lot more out of it if you'd read Red Dragon and knew something more of the back story of the characters.

Another show Defiance started on the 15th April.

According to the blurb “The show is Syfy's biggest original program in years”

They have spent a 100 million dollars on the franchise by all accounts including a MMO game by the same name.

https://www.defiance.com/en/game/

Not watched it yet, will have a look at the weekend.

Watched the first 45 minutes last night, and it looks promising if a little contrived and cheap, will watch a bit more before final judgment

45 minutes in and Defiance is OK. Not great, but OK.

I've got that to watch tomorrow. Was going to do it last night, but Game of Thrones and Mad Men got in the way.

DaVinci's Demons was ok, and The Borgias has returned for series 3 so I've got a double helping of 16th century Italy to keep me entertained.

Let's not spoil the mystery, aye? She might have really big areolas, like, covering most of the boob. Really, really brown ones, an' all. Or no areola at all. Either way, I'd like to keep that a secret until our honeymoon.

The first uploader for Game of Thrones has started password protecting his file, which sick beard can't know so thinks it has downloaded it. I then have to find a proper version and download it manually. 1st world fucking problems, or what!

Isn't Defiance the one with a tie-in MMO XBox game?

Yep.
Characters will apparently move between the two, so when they disappear from the show for a few weeks they'll be involved in the game and so on.
I liked the first double episode - nothing that blew me away but an interesting concept and it has aliens and spaceships which is a good start.

And a few other large torrent sites.

However, searching a torrent search engine makes life as simple as can be.

Google the word 'torrents'. The first hit should be to a site which searches multiple torrent sites on your behalf.

Surely we don't have to tiptoe round a simple link to a BitTorrent search engine:

http://torrentz.eu/

Amusingly when it returns results from Pirate Bay it includes at least one mirror which works round the UK ISP block.

They're not blocking torrents are they? I'm on Virgin and have no problem with torrents. They don't like the pirate bay, but you can always either try the pirateproxy or simply go to EZTV.it, which is where I get most of my TV stuff from

Anyhoo, thanks Bamba for the heads up on the torrent searching thingy. I've been using it ever since and it's awesome. I've even been watching Game of Thrones season 3 in fantabulous sexy high definition on my telly box. My googly eyes can't tell the difference between this and the bloo rayz and the main draw of blooooo rayz was how damn gorgeous the world looked. Thanks again for being excellent.

And thank all of you for being excellent.

'cept the cunts.

Oooh, y'know what I like at the minute too? Season 2 of Raising Hope. I've never seen the first season but I caught a couple of episodes the other day and it's glorious.

It's like My Name is Earl (which I also loved) and is probably made by the same people because half the same cast is in it. It's got that My Name is Earl twee vibe where think mentards people learn life lessons each episode. It's kooky but it has a warm heart and for that I love it. Just like My Name is Earl, obv.

Apart from the automation aspect, which seems like a pain in the arse to save a very trivial amount of manual effort, what's the advantage?

You can. It's an auto downloading bit of software, just type in game of thrones into it, and it'll download every episode from the past, and every episode as it is released in the future, without you needing to search for anything.

It's mildy tricky to set up, but only takes a couple of hours to do. Once it is setup though, you'll never have to search for anything ever again. I just get in, switch on my tv and choose something from my list of shows to watch.

It's kinda like a dishwasher, without it you can't really see the point. When you get one though, you wonder how you ever did without.

It works with torrents too, but I use usenet. Costs about a tenner a month.
