Quiet this morning isn't it ...

I was just about to post something similar but I got distracted by work.

I took Old Man Afterhtought to see the rugby in Otley on Saturday. There were 9 tries and it was pretty good fun. I might go again, if I have a free weekend.

We might put an offer in on a house this week, after looking around one near us for the second time. If it is accepted, we'll live in it for a year, and move it on again, I hope, once my position becomes clearer, to a larger one.

Coming into work this morning, my security pass has expired so I had to stand outside for ten minutes until someone let me in. This might end up being significant.

A simple mistake - on the first day back the important work will find you - you'll not have to go out looking for it :-)

Oh, and MrsA's parents met my parents. At a pub in Holme. Where the road was shut. It was, apparently, soemthing that was quite important to do pre-wedding. We paid for the meal, too. Bastards, the lot of them.

Haha, yes, we had to do that pre wedding as well. And pay.

Still, the process was helped by the fact that my dad and Ruth's dad both worked together years ago. They now hang out once a week restoring old Triumphs.

Returned from holiday and am at home waiting for a sofa. I've decided to make the obstacle course slightly easier for the deliverymen. Still not 100% sure the thing will get in without having to have the ceiling removed.

I signed up on New Years Eve. I didn't, however, learn to use it that night so it was a false premise. However, I've used it regularly at home since.

Yesterday was the first time I listened to an album which I didn't already own.

My main issue is that I have no idea what to search for Give me a blank screen and a search box, and i'll inevitably type in stuff I already know...

Do that then click on "related artists" or "start radio" and then go from there.

I did that about 4 months ago, it's great when I don't have available internet.

Got the sofa! No more deckchairs in the living room!*



*Unless I have guests and they won't all fit on, or I buy an armchair.

I was quite impressed that Homebase's delivery drivers managed to get a 2 seat settee up two flights of stairs that double back on themselves to put it in my games room. I think there was less than an inch of spare space, and I'd based my purchase on the assumption that it looked like it might go (and it was dirt cheap).

Plan B was to unbolt the railings from the first floor balcony window and throw it up into the lounge.

My porch faces the house sideways so it's a bit of a tight corner. I was very impressed that they took one look at the porch and said, 'yeah, we can do that'. No doubt they're used to getting things through imposssible-looking holes.

Quick grammar pedant question - if you're talking about two authors' study using their names, where do the apostrophes (if any) go?

Huh. I popped out on my bike this morning* as I really need to get out more if I am to do this coast to coast. I was disappointed to discover on my return that I wasn't any faster this morning than I was before but the man that sits behind me at work is 3 minutes quicker up the hill. The mile long hill. And he did 48 miles yesterday. After work. Time to actually get on board with this I think, Mr Afterthought.

We do not mention the 306. It is still a sore point that she made me get rid of it.

Ha! I forgot. We went to look at another house yesterday, but it wasn't great. What did stick out though, was the bloke completely ignored MrsA all the time we were there. he shook my hand and did not even acknowledge her presence. The fat, ruddy faced tosser. Although, I'll give him brave. Then, he was saying something stopped and said to me "I know your face..." which is historically a prelude to my exiting a nightclub earlier than anticipated, pursued by a jiilted lover, but he has seen me in the local pub with my book. Funny people, Northern types.
