Yes, yes - I'm aware of the irony ;)

Difference is that I figured the DeLorean was a joke, but went through the process to see what would happen.

These donkey-brained time wasters actually think they'll get an iPad out of it ;)

The BBC HD channel will be running a testcard spectacular after shutdown tonight at 1.20am. Grab it while you can, it contains all sorts of tests for setting up your HDTV and it is the last time it will be broadcast!

One would suggest it would be better to capture the raw stream to your PVR than let someone re-encode it and mess it all up. From memory it contains 5.1 and picture sync tests that could easily be messed up by a re-encode.

Even Chef Excellence can't bring me out of this bad mood.

I've just been emailed a company wide document which is a scanned in version of a word document. They've changed some details on it by scribbling over them with biro.

Ridiculous.

What I want is some Xbox points. So I go and order some from these people:

http://instagamepoints.com

No points arrive.

Do some googling. Oh, they appear to be doing this to a hell of alot of people. They are on top of Google and it appears to be some kind of scam.

Fucking arseholes.

Oof. I've ordered from ShopTo fine before, plus a guy on eBay with 3000+ positive reviews for selling similar things. That sucks. Balls. Salty ones.

Last time just used a search, found the best price and they texted me the code!

I should be able to do a debit card chargeback. Just printed my evidence and got a letter from that money saving site.

Next time I'll just use Amazon. That's if the Malaysians who are running this scam haven't cleared my bank account out first.

Stupid fucking 1930s bike having imperially measured nuts. And assorted irritations. Such as me buying half as much bar tape as needed.

Yes.

And good. Johnson is a nasty piece of work.

But he makes funnies and says silly things, so we might elect his as Prime Minister, like the Yanks did with George W Bush.

The actual bulb part of energy saving bulbs may well last for ten years, but as they build them so shitty the transformers always die long before the bulb does. Just replaced my second this year alone, for the cost it just isn't worth it. Back to normal bulbs for me, it'll save money and give me the added bonus of actually being able to see stuff again!

I got sick of constantly changing the GU10 bulbs in our kitchen so I bought four of these:

http://dx.com/p/gu10-4-led-360-lumen-35 ... v-ac-44577

The light is actually really nice, good colour and a bit brighter than the halogen ones they replaced, also much cooler and so more efficient. Just have to see how long they last.

Aye, I have some of those for the downlighters in the kitchen and bathrooms. The halogen ones seem to only last 3 months, and these have been going longer than that so far. Not as bright as my halogens, but I can live with that for the lack of hassle.

They're Deal Extreme so don't complain to us when your house burns down. I'm not being shitty, I use DX fairly often but I'd run a mile from anything they sell that's mains powered.

I've got 6 of the Phillips GU10's in the kitchen and the remaining halogens will come out in time.

Also have 3 of these in hallways/on the stairs:

Not trying hard enough!

Try your local hardware shop who may have suddenly decided to sell "heavy duty" or "industrial" light bulbs. They are using a loophole that allows normal bulbs to be sold for specialist applications. They are slightly dearer due to tougher glass.

I have emailed HR asking them when they think my contract expires. This could lead to interesting times, later, for people that are not me.

Actually, I think I can, as I'm not on a time limited contract. Hurrah!

Right, I am on a temporay contract with a one month notice period.

Jolly good, I suppose. Can I raise a morttgage against that?

Actually, I think I can, as I'm not on a time limited contract. Hurrah!

Should be equivalent to permanent employment I would have thought, depends how it is defined and how the company would state it though if the mortgage company asked them.

I have emailed HR asking them when they think my contract expires. This could lead to interesting times, later, for people that are not me.

I got sick of constantly changing the GU10 bulbs in our kitchen so I bought four of these:

The light is actually really nice, good colour and a bit brighter than the halogen ones they replaced, also much cooler and so more efficient. Just have to see how long they last.

They're Deal Extreme so don't complain to us when your house burns down. I'm not being shitty, I use DX fairly often but I'd run a mile from anything they sell that's mains powered.

Meh, it depends what it is and where. I'm pretty sure they won't burn the house down.
