The clippers I currently use to cut my hair are on their way out. Combined with age and never being oiled, they're just not up to the job anymore.

Does anyone here cut their own hair and could recommend some decent clippers for me? I guess I have about £40-£50 to spend and I'm not bothered about them being battery operated. I'd rather they had a plug as I'd probably never recharge the battery.

Anyway, hive mind. Go!

And be quick.. I'm starting to look silly with whispy bits of hair sticking out.

I use a Philips model - it appears to be discontinued now (I knew I should have bought two of the buggers while they were cheap).

The closest I can find on Amazon is this....

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-QC5530- ... 173&sr=8-1

It has the same rotatable head, which is handy for the back if you do it yourself. Like I say it's not exactly same model, but mine has served me well for a few years now.

The ones that I have are the ones that GovernmentYard had/has and they're still going well.

See previous topics I guess.

All you need is a £20 set of Wahls.

Get mains ones, so you never have half a haircut.

I ordered some Wahl clippers and gave them a go tonight.. and they're shit!

They pull and drag and didn't cut half my hair and they're really heavy to boot. They're going back in the morning.

Which ones did you buy?

I've never owned any other brand and they've been bullet proof.

They were mains powered ones, yes?

Yeah, Wahls are pretty much the de facto standard, you'd even be hard pressed to find a barber that doesn't use them.

I bought these.. yeah, I thought they were supposed to be good but they are not? It doesn't look like the blades are out of line or anything like that either.. I'm quite disappointed.

The reviews for that sound good, perhaps you've just got a duffer?

Or a twat of a head of hair ;)
