Last night a DJ saved my life
Last night, she said, oh baby I feel so down
Last night I told you I loved you
Last night I couldn't even get an answer
Last Christmas I gave you my heart

Interview today for two possible promotions at work today. Eek. Wearing a suit, and if I say so myself, I look good.

Positive thoughts in my direction at 11am please! :)

Also, anyone know how to get an audio file of a voicemail you've already received? It's sat in my 3 voicemail inbox, and I can't think of a decent way to get at it.

I've done this before and I did it by the following:-

Take a 3.5mm Jack out of your phone and plug the other end into the aux or mic socket on your PC.
Download and install audacity
Make sure you have the correct input selected
Press record
Play the voicemail.

That should work.

Just heard a radio advert from Tesco, making hay out of the horsemeat thing. "We're workgin with British farmers blah blah blah .... Now all of our beef will be sourced from the UK and Ireland" was one bit they were trumpeting. But, didn't a load of the horsemeat come from ... Ireland? Tits.

She said I should not be worried about a best man's speech as she doesn't think I've done anyhting scandalous and come April there will be lots of jobs to apply for.

Is it an Android phone? If so, install a call recorder and ring them up.
Also install Hullomail so this doesn't need to be an issue again.

I'm hiding in the loo as there is someone visiting the business today who I find really odious, and he is currently in my office.

My wife suffered a foot injury whilst visiting a volcano east of Java

Krakatoa?

No, but she bruised her instep quite badly.

Interview done.

Oh my god. That's the first interview I've done for nearly 7 years, and the first ever internal interview I've had. It was so hard. Yes, they know my good points, but they're also far too aware of my bad points.

I went for two job roles - Senior Account Handler and Team Leader. One of the technical insurance questions I just couldn't answer and one of the TL questions I just couldn't think of an example of when I'd done something or other.

I've come out of it feeling like I'm a bit of a jack of all trades and not particularly suitable for either role.

At least it's over now though! Oh wait, but I still have to work under whoever gets the sodding TL job. Brilliant.

I always thought there should be some mileage in a Jakarta joke:

My wife went on a 19th century transport themed city break in Indonesia

Jakarta?

Or something

My wife thought up something similar when on holiday in North America.

Alaska?

It's okay. I'll ask her myself.

Time for the big guns. This is as far as I'm concerned the king of all 'my wife went....' jokes.

My wife went to Poole on her holidays.

In Dorset?

Yes, she'd recommend it to anyone.

Being the last person in the office isn't fun, but it does mean that you can ditch the headphones and turn the tunes up. Starship tonight. I get up and wander round the corner to get something from the printer, and there's one of the cleaners wiping down desks and ROCKING THE FUCK OUT. She looked up, we both nodded, and I walked away.

It's like that if I work a weekend and I'm the only person in the office. Except I have a noisy Russell instead of the radio.

Next time I'm taking the iPad and will have iPlayer

Pro tip, remember to turn your speakers off before you leave, as the Skype ringtone at 120db can often offend.
