I'm feeling a wee bit disappointed and hoped that somebody could help/advise. I had a nice little week of pattern sales last week, so decided to put all of the week's booty into getting myself an iPad, because they are fab for storing and using the pattern charts I draw up for testing.
Anyhoo, it's a really big treat for me, so I have been setting it up this afternoon but have hit a snag.
My iPhone uses Exchange to sync with gmail as it then supports push notifications. I like the iPad mail app as I only want three days of emails visible at once just to keep track of new ones.
But the rather big snag is that unlike with my phone (which works fine) I can't sync my emails via Exchange.
After some stress and much googling I seem to have found out that Google dropped support for Active Sync on 30th January, and so new devices can no longer set up gmail using Exchange.
This is quite a stumbling block for me as I like just having three days emails in the app, as well as the push notifications. The gmail Connectivity in the iPad app doesn't support push and the gmail app displays emails since the beginning of time and have to be hand archived
Does anyone know if there is either a way around it, or can anyone suggest a decent alternative to gmail which I can forward all of my gmail emails to and which will also a) work with the iPad app and b) supports push notifications rather than me have to set it to fetch/manually check?
Thanking you for any help/opinion/onion pinion/advice x
