Latest Indiegala is up. Pay what you want for You Are Empty and Trine or pay over the average (currently $5.93) for those two plus Cities in Motion, Painkiller, Magicka and Deponia.

I know there were some 'issues' with the last batch of cheap 2nd hand games from them but there is a new £5 off code for Blockbuster "5MARKET"

Takes £5 off any 2nd hand title over £15? so knocks Resi6 down to £11 / Dishonored down to £13 / Halo 4 down to £15 - Single use only

If anyone's got any HMV vouchers it'd be wise to spend them as soon as you can. A "Blue Cross Sale" starts Saturday instore and online to try and line their pockets to fulfill their lending commitments. Might be the beginning of the end.

I have not tried this yet but sign up to NOW TV :

http://www.nowtv.com

And get 800 Microsoft space bucks for free if you cancel within the free period (30 days) and get an additional 1600 if you stay subscribed (i presume for at least one month at £15 per month)

Mainly seems to be stuff from the Sky Movies channels

Wasn't sure where to put this, but here seems as good as any.

Ovivo mobile are doing a sim with 500mb a month of data for free (well, £10 up front but that gets refunded as £10 credit).
http://ovivomobile.com/23/our-offer/the ... nd-tariff/

If you use under 500mb a month, that seems a bit of a bargain to me.

They also do the same kind of plan for your proper mobile, but i'm not sure I would trust porting my number to them and then getting it back once they inevitably go bust with this business model :D

100 mins
100 texts
400mb internet
a month for free, you only use credit if you go over those limits.

HMV cash-strapped-sale 25BLUECROSS voucher is active. Typically there's fuck all worth getting even using the coupon.

I have not picked it up - it got middling reviews at the time although got some love @giantbomb for their game of the year deliberations

74 on Metacritic : http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-360/syndicate

Meaty and IanR didnt think much of it at release : viewtopic.php?f=3&t=7796&hilit=syndicate

Dimrill picked it up one of the previous times its dropped but didnt comment if it was any good or not : viewtopic.php?f=3&t=111&p=682624&hilit=syndicate#p682624

It's alright. It's not Syndicate by any stretch of the imagination. Pretty standard shoot-em-up but far from bad.

There's a teleporting boss that knocks you on your arse and plays Skrillex at you. There's lots of "Mash buttons to open door" sequences. There's invisible walls all over the place, and it's got nice looking but incredibly shallow linear levels.

Avoid.

From Hotukdeals there is a £5 Tesco discount voucher which you can use to either get :

12 Months Xbox live for £27.99 : http://www.tesco.com/direct/xbox-live-1 ... ff_1018132

or

2x2100 points cards for £27 : http://www.tesco.com/direct/xbox-live-f ... d=614-4518
(these are just Fifa branded they are still standard 2100 point cards)

add them to the basket and use code TD-KFPW to knock a fiver off the total

** Edit ** - the 2100 point cards are now showing as out of stock for me (they were in stock 2 minutes ago!) so i switched to these 1800 point ones for £13.75 each

http://www.tesco.com/direct/xbox-live-u ... d=789-7262

2 of these will give you 3600 points for £22.50

They did have everything available on Amazon recently for around $50 (caveat is that you need to buy it from amazon.com so need to add a US billing address)

I think it may have been this one http://www.amazon.com/The-Sims-3-Bundle ... B004D4Y36G but worth checking Amazon as they are doing some bundle offers during January

That isn't everything, that's the game and four addons. Steam's thing is 14 addons.

I could be tempted, except:
-the game is four years old
-it's an EA game
-the new one is due in 2014
-it's an EA game

I predict Sims 4 will feature, at most, four different wall coverings, two haricuts, one item of furniture. The rest will be DLC.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B1ULJI0/ref ... EKZ7TYN34Q

1. DEADLIGHT
2. Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet
3. Iron Brigade
4. Mark of the Ninja

Today's free Android Amazon app is Final Freeway 2R, which is a nifty Out Run clone. I've not played it for more than 30 seconds yet, but it seems as polished as the original Final Freeway that they gave away last year.

I yoinked it this morning but haven't had a chance to play it yet. I seem to remember playing the demo of the original and thinking it quite well done. As long as there's an option for some kind of on-screen controls because fuck tilt-to-steer.

there are a few books that are weirdly cheap on the Kindle at the moment (half-decent books, not your vanity-published-10p-police-procedurals-with-fag-smoking-headstrong-female-detectives books).

20p books, including Life of Pi, a CJ Sansom book (Winter in Madrid) and an endearing-looking book, The Hundred Year Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared. Seem worthy of two curly wurlies at any rate.

From amazon, natch.

The Hundred Year Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window - I bought this one, but have not started it yet. The kindle cheap books are awesome, these deals on the good books. I bought "Mr Blue: Memoirs of a Renegade" by Edward Bunker last night and it is interesting and enjoyable. Esecially at 99p.
